nah you need to stfu and hear me out.
i'm not talking about training a nfl athlete to run faster, or taking on a jared sized fatty and turning him into ronnie coleman...i'm talking about helping a bro get into a weight lifting regiem and make progress...honestly i've done it quite a few times, got peeps rolling with the wieghts and some general principals.
it's not that difficult bro, and i'm not some dumbass n00b...most people who start weight lifting pickup the sport this way, you don't need to go to some rediciulous miami style gym with dj and pay a trainer $3000 to learn how to bench press and do preacher curls.

lol. you still don't know what you're talking about.
it's not that simple. TRAINING IS NOT THE ONLY ASPECT OF BEING A TRAINER. Not every client is even motivated.

BM pretty much owned you on this thread.

you can't talk about a profession you know nothign about or havent been involved in. i don't sit here and tell you i think being a firefighter is an easy job (well, i guess sitting around and playing xbox when you're not on a call is)

i'm sorry that you failed as a PT...i feel confident in my skills, knowledge and track record that i could be a good trainer.
fire analogy-fail, i understand weight training and human communication...you can offer me nothing about wildland fire
don't hate

lol @ failed as a PT and trying to personally attack my credentials.

where did i fail? The money is not worth the effort you have to put in. It's primarily a sales driven business. For that, its much better to be in a different sales position

again, you're speculating with no basis for anything. You know how many PTs have that mentality then be trainers and fall on their face? Most.
you're not a businessman or salesman...so how are you goign to tell me you'd be a great PT?

your unwarranted arrogance is irritating, to say the least. and everyone who's been a trainer or is now agrees with the sentiments i just shared.

you = done in this debate

Damn you're brutal! *Backs off*.

r
OMG! I got RG to say I'm brutal!!! Fuckin' A you made my day! :D

Yessss, I am within eyeshot of evil bitch status!

LOL@Bino thinking he could remotely succeed as a personal trainer because "some good bros" took his FREE ADVICE about basic weight lifting.

Hey Bino - talk to us when someone actually PAYS YOU for same advice. Till then, sorry but you gots no leg to stand on.

Aside from that, let's have a little fun, shall we?

How would you BEGIN the approach for training a client with my husband's profile? You know, an older man with a coupla bucks to burn, told by his physician he'd better make some changes or he may end up taking the great dirt nap sooner than later. (Believe it or not even something as serious as physician warning and medications aren't always enough to get MOST PEOPLE to actually pay a fitness professional for their guidance.)

Now tell me how you would SELL HIM. Why should he give YOU his money and not the gaggle of other PT's that the gym pays a whopping 7 dollars an hour to re-rack the weights that all the jooseheads with no kinda gym etiquitte leave laying all over the place.

Finally tell me how much of the hourly rate that the gym charges him will actually go into YOUR POCKET and WHEN do you think it will actually go INTO YOUR POCKET. (You'd better damned well believe that shit got taken out IN FULL from his bank account once he signed on the bottom line. But when and how much of that money will actually hit YOUR BANK ACCOUNT is a horse of another color.)

You guys are so dumb, you are making it seem like personal training is not a good job just because it didnt work out for you. Well you obviously didnt have enough passion for it, you just wanted more money. Well you dont deserve to be fucking personal trainers then do you?

And its pretty simple concept. Wow a flabby girl, just have her start doing light dumbbell exercises. NOt that hard. He has high blood pressure? Go ask a doc and see if he says ok, if he does then great were good to go. Back problems? Ill start at basic movements and see what hurts him and go from there.

Its not fucking hard. Sales? My body sells, sorry your bodies didnt. My looks also sell. I bet half my clients pick me just because I look good, they could give a fuck about training. You think a teenage guy that benches 135 sees me and isnt gonna want to know whats up?

I havetalked to a lot of succesful personal trainers, and they love it.

AND AND AND they come to me, not the other way around. They want me so they can pick me or not. As long as you are friendly and offer competitive prices then its up to them. You dont need to be a sales expert. Maybe you guys did but Not every PT has to be.

Personal training is not hard. You would be surprised to know how much I actually know about this shit. Im gonna be successful whether I have the dumbest ass certificate on earth or 20 certs. Its not hard to tell people what to do. You cant really tell me its hard because you dont know my position, I dont even have to do sales the 19 y/o manager puts them under me.

Piece of cake! Fat loss = diet, cardio, toned training
muscle gain = calorie surplus diet, heavy training

How many cycles have you done, by the way?

glad its a lot harder. . . .

its good to be very confident. bad to be overconfident.

follow your dreams. but you have to have the outlook on charismatically caring about helping people succeed with their goals.

it is a rough business to get into. and the more clients you have the harder you will find it to be.

like ive told you before, my buddy who makes a TON pting has 21' biceps. he is so charismatic that one of his clients who was rich actually tried to buy him a crotch rocket. but he cares a TON about their success.

find a mentor. its the best thing to do.

someone who is very successful/huge and can take you under their wing.

its what i did with my buddy who is a PT. im just not NEAR as big enough as i want to be to really do it to make a career.

once my biceps hit 18' and im deadlifting 5-600 i will be ready to go. until then im going to pick up a ton of certs and sculpt my body.

remember to be smart.

and this thread better not get as long as your other ones. lol
