Hey guys I'm a new user here who decided to get back into the gym a few months ago. I'm here now because I'm trying to get an objective opinion about my diet and training program. Before I get started you should know that I'm trying to get stronger and more muscular but my number one priority is burning fat.
Right now I'm lifting Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday and having a strict cardio day on Wednesdays and one of the weekend days. On the days that I lift I also spend 15 minutes on the eliptical prior to lifting and run a mile and a half right after lifting. I understand that I'm probably doing the right thing there but what I'm more interested in is making sure my diet is ok.
I usually wake up between 6 and 7 and have 2 scoops of muscle milk. Around 9 I eat a nutrigrain bar or some other low calorie breakfast bar. Around 11 I have a nonfat yogurt. At 1 I have a sandwich, usually turkey or penutbutter and jelly, and a piece of fruit. At 3 I have a low fat snack like pretzels or veggiebooty. I go to the gym around 4 and when I get out around 6 I have 3 scoops of mega whey extreme. Around 8 I have dinner which is usually grilled chicken or a lean cuisine meal.
Now my meal times fluxuate by an hour or so depending on how my work schedule or school schedule is, but I usually try to keep everything around the times I listed.
In addition to this I take a megamen sport tablet once with my muscle milk first thing in the morning and again with my 1 pm meal. I also take one cla tablet with the muscle milk, one with the 1 pm meal and again one with my dinner. I also take three tablets of ultimate thermo pump a half hour before i go to the gym.
So am I doing all the right things now? Or do you have any suggestions on any tweaks I could make with my dieting or with my workouts? Right now I stand at 245 pounds and I am trying to lose at least another 30 pounds of fat before the summer. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you
