New to powerlifting

I am new to powerlifting, not so much to weights in general, but I think that having a number goal to shoot for is more my style than just lifing to look good, etc. I have played a lot of sports and think that this is the best of both worlds. Could anyone reccomend some training literature to get me started, Id love to get started with a sweet program on monday. stats- 6 foot 181 dead- last time I checked 355, squat 305. bench 225.

A lot of us here practice the Westside Barbell Method of training. You can check out the literature on it in the articles section at www.elitefts.com, but I'll warn you that it's pretty unorthodox, and it's a lot of reading. Also check out Dave Tate's Q and A on that same site -- where pretty much any question you can think of about westside has been answered. This definitely isn't the only powerlifitng routine though -- look up some PLing sites and check out the links -- you'll find tons of sites with tons of stuff to read.
