new squat video

fucking awesome. i cant wait till i hit that kind of weight. i dont use a belt either and i feel that i such a strong core as a result.

nice, I am working my way up there. I have heard wearing a belt makes the lower back muscles weak. I only wear one on heavy deads and heavy squats.

first time squatting 485lbs, but got 6 reps, raw with no belt and ass all the way down. On some of the reps, I am leaning too far forward, not too happy about that, but I'll fix it and maybe shoot another video with 495 next week

BTW, be patient, video will likely load slow

squat 485 x 6

Need, for squats...is it really necessary to do ass to the grass? I mean..when I do squats, I do go way down. I would say " almost " ass to the grass. I sure as hell do not do any knee jerks. But then again...I do not go down as low as you do. So am I still getting the full benefits of the squat exercise?

Bro! How the fuck do you do it without wraps? When I do really fucking heavy..I need those wraps. Without them...I feel so weak. And without a belt?! Holy fucking shit! I feel like without the belt everything is going to pop out! That belt makes feel much stronger not only for legs, but also for any other body part I hit. A few years back I was doing squats on Adrol without a belt and got a hernia. Not fucking good!

thanks guys
currently on cycle, weighed in at 259lbs(5'8"). I'm running anadrol for the last 4 weeks of the cycle, and my strength has really gone up as a result
I havent used a belt in about 7-8 years, i went to a surgeon as I thought i had a hernia, and he explained about how the belt builds up abdominal pressure, and you will end up with a hernia if you have any weak muscles in that area. So I threw out the belt, and havent used it since. If I used one, I figure I would be squatting at least 550lbs for reps, but am paraniod about getting a hernia

Definitely inspiring bro! I thought I was doing good doing 375lbs for a few reps...but I currently only weigh ~170lbs and am off-cycle; also have never used a belt or wraps. I train my abs hard every day...seems to help with lower back strength.
btw: I don't think I'm doing too bad for an old guy (53) :)

so mr needsize from what you just said you'd recommend anyone not to use a belt?

I would say stay away, or keep it to a minimum. Other than 1 ab exercise per week, I dont do anything else to train my midsection, but when I diet down to contest condition, my whole midsection is crazy, which I figure has to be from the heavy squats and deads(been up to 550lbs for reps on deads) without a belt.

Carth, I would say ass to the floor is key, thats where I got my best leg development, and there is no cheating when it gets heavy as you know the feeling of your ass touching your ankles. Its also safer on the knees, as the stress shifts from your knees to your hips when you go that low, and the hips are a way stronger joint.

Tweakle bro, you're only an hour away, and squat around the same as me, we have to hook up and hit legs. Superqt, same goes for you, but i get to dictate what you wear though(or dont wear)

smaretick, that is an impressive weight, I'm squatting 100lbs more, but I outweigh you by 90lbs as well

How big is it? :qt:

PS: I'm talking about your thigh.

Awesome bro, I gotta agree. I don't use straps or a belt either...but I am not @ 485 for reps either.
It's wicked how your head turned purple after the first rep! LOL
