My general nutrition plan

I have always had a diet approach of not following any particular diet – I just follow some guidelines of my own, such as:
Not eating bakery (bread, pancakes, and so on)
No sweets
No sugar
No caloric bombs (like creams, nuts, etc)
No fatty food
And little pasta and rice


Do you think this kind of approach can work well? Is there anything I am missing? I am not a believer in diets as such, because it is so hard to follow them – it is easier and more reliable to have healthy habits.
 
I really like your plan – you are avoiding the most “dangerous” foods, so it is a good approach. Indeed, many think that just by following a diet for a few months they can get into good shape. Diets are a life-time compromise, where you follow the right way of eating all the time. So you are on a good path.

Yeah Steve, I have mentioned them, perhaps I did not explain myself. These are the things I call the calorie bombs - they have tons of calories per small amount of food. So I guess I will follow with my diet in the same manner! Great to know that I am doing the right thing!
 
I think your nutrition plan looks great. As a society, we would be a lot healthier if we adopted your nutrition plan.

Especially sugar. It's not a coincidence that obesity and cardiovascular diseases have sky rocketed since sugar has become more prevalent in the north american diet. The single best thing you can do for your health - remove all sugar from your diet.
