My calves = My nemisis

I never thought of that. I figured between the gym and my hobbies I was hammering them hard enough. I'll adjust the reps and see how they respond. Thanks.

I have gotten good response from doing calve sets on the inverted leg press machine. I press 150 with planted feet. Then wiggle my feet down so only the balls of my feet are at the bottom of the press. I do as many miny toe presses as I can with the same weight. So far this has been the only thing to make my calves burn. ......Ang

Calves, unfortunately, are about 90% genetics. lol

But you can help them along somewhat - try jumping rope, jumping jacks (good for cardio intervals!) and even some plyometrics. Anything requiring explosive running/jumping type movements will help calf development.

I (thank god!) am very blessed with calves, but have NEVER goitten anything out of those toe rasie machines at the gym (besides a compressed spine, lol). I'd rather do jumping rode, and plyo's.

Yep...keep in mind that calves, like abs, require a lisghgtly higher rep range dur to their short TUT.
