Mountain bike suggestions

Is there a decent university nearby? Shop craigslist for those areas. Where i'm at in texas no one does shit but austin in only a few hours away and there was sooooo many UT students selling bikes it was unreal. Got a 800 dollar roadbike for 300 off craigslist with tons of extras.

I ended up going to my local dealer and picked up a Giant Talon 29'er for around 700. Sweet bike! They had to special order one with an XXL frame for me but I took an XL for a spin and loved it.
