So we're switching to summer hours at work, which means I need to start going in the morning instead of after work. Otherewise I'm just rushed and too wound up to sleep for a few hrs after.

My question is how do you guys get your energy up for those that W/O early am.

I will be waking up about 7 am and hitting the gym around 7:30.

I'd like a few easy meal options that will give me a little boost in energy, but not zap my energy due to digestion. Don't wanna puke either.

Keep in mind I can't do caffine, so any stimulants are out.

I knocked that on the head bro...i always felt like my workout was lacking when i did early morning.

just not enough fuel in the machine.

i would have a cup of oats ,2 bananas and 2 scoops of whey an hour previous...
 
I always squat and dead lift in the morning. Its rough at first but your body will get used to it. I always wake up and take a shower to wake me up then have breakfast. I like pancakes and a couple eggs. Its light but effective for me.

Yeah my workouts seem to be lagging a bit. Well all but leg days? WTF is with that? Chest suffers the most, but we're talking a rep or 2 on my heavy sets.

I really have no other option if I wanna stick with my routine throught the summer. Last summer I either had to drive way outta my way after work, and like said couldn't fall asleep for hours after. Either that or I just settled on working out 2 x a week. I won't settle this summer.

I think I'll try toast ans eggs tomorrow.

Any other ideas for a quick meal that you can still w/o a half hour later with?
 
i dont know bro...maybe set your alarm for 5am and chug back a good home - made shake with whey and oats in it.then get 2 hours snooze time...have the eggs + toast.
 
lots of water.. some pancakes with honey and a sweet potato.

go to bed earlier.. i dunno how some people go to bed at midnight or 1am. and then they get up early with drink a bunch of coffee. and they wonder why they are in shit shape.

sleep is crucial..

and i would recommend trying to get in a nap in the afternoon if you workout in the morning, it will really help.
 
Appreciate it, but I'm usually in be by 11 on workdays. Summer hrs at work are 9:45-9:15 of which I am required to work 50 hrs/wk. As far as sleep, I always get at least 7 hrs.
