Loose skin tightening after weight loss

The cold hard truth is that nothing will rebuild the damaged protein structures that bind your skin cells together. Surgery is the only solution. I have the same problem you do, by the way.

ISn't it a fucking bitch. I lost over 100 lbs..and have it pretty bad around my stomach. I have tried it all... preparation h, cutting gel, topical yohimbine, vitamin E oil, but nothing helps.

i have heard that it will get back to normal, but over a LONG period of time...we're talkin years!

you should think that since we've done something so good as to loose so much fat that we should be rewarded... not punished.

how much is the surgery, anyways?

wc.

I had the surgery, its 4600$ Canadian.

HURT LIKE HELLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my case I lost around 160lbs when I was 14-15yo, so it was a major case.

If you are referring to lypo, the show I saw listed the base price between $5000-6000. That was just for around the waist. Probably goes up or down depending on how much and where you have it done.

In the new muscular development there is a breif article about some form of ultrasound being to used to "liquify" the fat in the love handles making it much easier to suck out. they also said recovery is 3 days or so. cost around 2000

Like was said extra skin is either something genetic or for whatever reason your skin was stretched beyond capacity even if you cant see the stretch marks.

Im going through the same thing but need to diet down again because I gained about 20 pds due to stress and some other things Im dealing with health wise.

I also lost 110+ lbs and basically have this layer over the front that kind of is just their. it may have only been an inch or 2 but no definition would show and its kind of jelly like.

I was told by a plastic surgeon to stabalize your weight for 3 months and during that time try to diet down the right way and make sure to tone up all your muscles. At the end of this period go into a doctor and get an evaluation.

if your lucky you could get a mini tummy tuck but this may be wishfull thinking for us formerly obese guys.

Otherwise you'll need a tummy tuck, maybe a huge cut in a couple operations if they have to go around the back. they will replace your belly button and you will be out of it as far as intense exercising goes for weeks as you have to have drainage tubes, and a body wrap for time.

The tuck is needed because lip cannot remove extra skin. You can diet all the fat out and if their is extra skin your probably screwed considering the stress that was involved. some it can probably look pretty bad. I don't have visible stretch marks but as I lost weight I though it was wierd towards the end. It was barely uncomfortable to bend over say as it feels like some huge lump is being lugged around, although it may not show through clothes with your profile.

Also on the costs if you have general numming in the area and your awake you save money and this can be done at an office. But if you need something big like a tuck, you will need to be hospitalized and knocked out and you'll have to pay these fees plus the doctor fees and of course that adds up and could approach 10g's or more

it definately sucks if you have lost a ton of weight. But it could be worse I guess. For me I was big even as a little kid so figure I couldn't do anything about it. I was very active all through school and ate balanced home cooked meals daily. I had to really watch things to lose weight and can gain it back faster.

ill make an appointment with a Derm and see what they think. This sucks, all that hard work to loose weight, and i have this as a constant reminder..........SHIT!

Congratulations on the weight loss!! That is quite an accomplishment.

If you're fairly young you should see some gradual tightening of the skin over time. Otherwise, building muscle to 'fill' the skin will help improve appearance.

Surgery by a qualified plastic surgeon can fix the situation, but there is a considerable cost and the recovery is a bear.

Good luck and keep lifting!

my roomate has the same problem...

he went from 278 to 214 in about 7 months. naturally too. all he did was cardio every day and ate a little better. he's back up to 235lbs on eq/ winnie but there's probably an inch of fat hanging over his gut. he's only 24. would someone as young as him need lipo. should the skin reagain some of it's elasticity?...
