long term diet advice

hey guys,

im a 21 year old weakling

im 140 pounds- 5,10

ive got a personal trainer, and im going to lift 3 times a week.

i want some advice about diet.

i am long and lean, but i also have mild type 1 diabetes, and low testosterone for a 21 year old

i am now supplementing my T with androgel, and i want to spend the next year bulking up.

because i am so scrawny, i have a tendancy to put fat on rather than muscle.

so keeping in mind my history, but also that now i am working out hard, could someone suggest the kind of diet i should eat.

i need to find a balance between eating enough, getting enough protein, but also having variety
i was thinking that more or less unlimited lean protein is ok, as well as green veg and salads. i guess this should be my core diet, and i can fill up as much on this kinda stuff as i want.

but snacking is more tricky. should i be snacking on protein, nuts, chicken and tuna etc.

or can i snack on fruit- apples, tomato juice, berrys etc.

what do you think

keeping in mind i need to think about the bigger picture, not just short term weight loss, could someone help

cheers

I don't get it in the end you said bigger picture not just short term "Weight loss". Your 140 and 5'10 your bulking or loosing weight?!

I'm going to assume your bulking.

Snack on natural nuts, tuna is great but make sure to get some good fats in there as well as tuna has none. Don't be afraid of fats good fats cary 9kcal per gram thats energy for one thing.

Get a Protein Shake powder in Isolate form.

Make sure that after your work outs you are ingesting 30-40 grams of protein along with 50-60 grams of carbs. This is your most important meal of the day from here on out. Breakfest is essential but this is now your most important. Pick up some Ceasin Protein for your right before bed shake this will allow your body to utalize the protein over night and keep away from catabolism. In the morning have oatmeal with egg whites. The cholestrol in one egg yolk is enough for 100 percent of your daily intake and has little to no protein (its all in the white). Eat 6-7 meals a day every 2 hours and get on a multi vit.

Start there as a beginner and let me know if you have any other questions.

thats as good advice as youll get, there are supps. you can take but as he said do that just to start out you dont wanna go crazy in the beginning, make sure your lift routine is designed for mass too but im assuming your trainer covers that for you otherwise follow that advice and stick to it and you should be fine

You would do well adding in protein and healthy fats like those from nuts. I would be very careful on my carbs choices and when it comes to diabetes I think carbs that come straight from nature are your best choices...Fruit/Veggies but no grains.
