I hate the lakers and usually root for the underdogs. Being a Laker fan is just ridiculous to me. I'm not one to jump on the bandwagon

Your right they are a bandwagon team. I can't stand to see people say yeah the lakers are the best team every and were going to win because theres no one an beat them by people that don't watch basketball and most likey haven't ever picked a basketball in there life. Now, isn't that a bitch!!!!!!

Any team that wins a championship becomes a bandwagon team. Even a team like the Baltimore Ravens, who a lot of people hated, got a huge number of overnight fans.

the whole "bandwagon" thing is just rediculous.. people aren't saying "i like the lakers" because "everybody else is doing it".. or because they feel cool saying that.. they like watching the lakers and watching them win because they're fun to watch... shaq and kobe are one of the best combos ever.. the team is well-rounded and fucking good.. they wouldn't have won the previous two championships and been in the current one if they were not.. i don't think it's wrong to say "i like the lakers.. because they are good".. and if you think so then you're just sore because whatever sorry ass team is "your" team.. or from near your hometown or state.. sucks fucking balls..

Good point, I know a lot of people that became Clipper fans this year. The Clippers improved big-time but got a lot of fans (or viewers) for the simple fact that they are a very entertaining team to watch. Most people don't consider these people bandwagon fans for the simple reason that the Clips didn't make the Playoffs, but it's the same situation as the Lakers.

That is why I like to watch the Rams in the NFL (or Vikings from a few years ago). They are entertaining as hell. Along the way, you will get a lot of bandwagon fans and even more jealous fans of other teams (or they may not even have a team).

I have been a clipper fan since I was a little sperm man. I notice there's been a bandwagon following starting to happen with them too.

Were not talking about those that acually are real fans of the Lakers but those that do go for ateam just because they see the success of one's accomplishments....those are the ones I hate.

I am no bandwagon Lakers fan eiher. I have been a fan of Shaq since he entered the NBA 10 years ago. I am a Shaq fan first and foremost and I used to be a Magic fan until Shaq went to the Lakers in 1996. So I have been a Lakers fan since 1996, 4 years before their first modern title.

With all the players changing around teams so much these days, its tough to be a fan of every team b/c a lot of the players that fans like change teams so often these days.

Anyways I cant wait until the Finals!!

Its gonna be a SHAQ ATTAQ!!!!!

the same things that bring a team success also spur a following.. so when can one be so sure that a fan likes a team because of their success and not because of the all the qualities they show that led them to that success?

True dat. I hate those bastards who all of a sudden are the biggest fans and talk all kinds of trash.

Basketball isn't really my sport, so I can't really call the Lakers my team (though I have sided with them in every playoff series since the '90 finals vs. Chicago). I always root (sp?) for the Clippers and now the Wizards when they play the Lakers.
