Keto Diet Question

I am doing a little research about keto dieting. I want to give it a shot and have a question. Any suggestions/help is appreciated.

I normally work out early in the morning. Pre-work out and post work out I drink a protein shake with 1 cup of oatmeal (2 cups of oats total). Should I eliminate the oats from my shakes pre and post work out?

Are you doing a full keto diet(not recommended if you workout), CKD, or TKD?

Keeping the oats is fine for a TKD.
Keeping the oats is a no-no for a keto diet.
Keeping the oats is fine ONLY before you start a carb-up for a CKD.

I'd avoid oats even on a TKD... I think it's best to stick to high GI carbs when on a TKD. They kick in fast, sustain for just long enough, get your recovery carbs, then get them out of your system so you can get back into ketosis rapidly. The oats can slow down digestion is well. Most definitely great for a low GI carb diet, carb cycling, maintenance diet, lean bulk... But think they are going to be a problem for a TKD

Good to know. Thanks.

This is a very bad idea. Has hardcore side effects if you do this diet. And funny part is, once you go back on your carbs - you'll gain more than you started off with.

Ex. If you started at 200lb, and lost 15lb, the day you go back to carbs, you'll be 210 atleast or something. Did research on this in my health class. It's bad! lol

Most of the "loss" is just water weight.

So you'd pack on 25lbs of water in a day? The initial lbs lost is water, but assuming you're strict with it, the weight after that should be mostly fat....maybe a little muscle.

Ok, so I lose weight quick on low carb. Howevere, since doing crossfit-type workouts, I can't imagine doing low carb more than a few days.. I workout mon, tue, wed and thursday.. I was thinking of going no carb mon-wed, no carb on thur b/c it's a non training day and eat an apple or something on friday before the workout, then load up on sat and half of sunday.. I workout in the morning, which is the end of my day. I work from 11p-7a.. do you guys have any suggstions? Also, what does TKD mean??
