Strength doesn't always coincide with size you're right but it definetly stimulates growth when you change up your routine once in a while. I added some serious mass/strength last fall-winter using a power lifting routine.

It's hard giving up that pump feeling though...

So true hun... To elaborate on this, I cannot believe some of the power that comes of out of some of the guys at the gym & neither can a friend of Mine I help train sometimes ... he's 6'4 1/2 (yes, he'll round up) and about 220-225...

I constantly insist on dropping the weight, get in the Full ROM reps & not worry about how many plates 5'10 170 lb'r over there can do... I tell him, unless he runs a strength program, incorporates more POWER exercises & EATS more ( I think I eat more than him right now lol :chomp: ), I don't see him reaching that level of strength ... very humbling it's also kinda sad to see the frustration ...

Sorry for the rant ... carry on :)

YEP! I thought I was the only one. When I first started skull crushers I HATED them. They felt aqward and did nothing for a pump. and would leave my wrest and elbows with like a popping twitching feeling. After awhile my arms got used to them and havent had them again. But that is common. But you are the only one other then myself to talk about the splints in forarms when doing curls. For a long while I felt that when i was doing barbell curls that my forarms where going to break. Like i though i might have had a small fracture or something. It did feel much like a chin splint. Havent had it a lot lately...kinda just stopped but i had it for about 3 months. Such a wierd place for a fracture though. I am interested about it as well. I figured though thats what it was because it hasnt came back and feels like it "healed". No one knew what i was talkin about either.

I am doing those tonight and my problem is my wrists, but bought some new wrists supports and I am trying them tonight. My goal is to get all the way through them!

Skull crushers really crank on my elbows for sure... they're rough... but never "hurt" as in painful. I try to keep my wrists as flat/straight as humanly possible... so they're never an issue... but elbows yeah for sure, but no pain... that must be rough.

I like heavy tri pressdowns and overhead presses and close grip bench more.

For a real swap of exercises to hit the same part of the tricep try the Low Cable with a seat facing the opposite way and a bar on it for overhead presses... may need someone to hand the bar to you though. It's quality.

one thing about my chiropractor is he used to body build and he told me it could be bc my muscles are growing faster than my tendons. it should go away with time but for now i have to work through it. i really like my tri workout right now and im going to stick with it. first i do reverse grip bench (i dont know if this is the name), skullcrushers, pushdowns, and 1 random exercise which changes every week. i will finally be posting a lat shot soon.

I have been doing the same tri workout for about 4 months and have had great gains. I start out with behind the head dumbell overhead press. Work up to about 100lbs. Then skull crushers to about 80-90lbs. Then Pull downs goin real heavy with the V shaped bar. and then Light TIGHT reps with the cables. I always blow the shit outta my tris. My elbows stopped getting sore after consistantly doing them. Maybe try skull crushers as a warm up set and dont go to heavy. Then when you quite feeling pain bump up the weight. Thats what I did.
