Is there anyway to gain mass(bulk) and keep the abs?

I really need to know how to get better abs during this bulking season that I'm in. My gut is growing as I take in all these calories. What is the best way to get those abs while bulking every other muscle. Need help guys!

dude its quite simple, if u want to gain mass u have to take the sacrifice of putting on some fat, just cut it away during ur cutting diet, u cant bulk without gainiging fat otherwise it will take u a real long time to just gain muscle, u will gain it much faster taking in a lot of caloires, thus gaining some fat.

To keep abs while bulking you have to work them twice as hard. Honestly, if you're trying to put on lots of size you will lose the hard 6 pack look. You might be able to still see them but they won't be anything to brag about.

Who cares about abs right now, worry about them in the summer.
Pack on the muscle and try not to get too fat while your doing it, then cut like hell in the spring.

Thanks guys, I see what I'm trying to do is wasting my time, when I could be training something more beneficial during the winter.:mix:

All you do is not go overboard with calories.

Remember if you gain more than 2 pounds per mongth (if you are not a newbie) it is quite safe to assume its fat, infact it is.

CONSTANTLY monitor your waist and your weight. If you gain more than 2 pounds, then cut back on food!

You can get bigger by staying lean... You dont have to loose any/much flab so you dont LOOSE MUSCLE!

Why waste 4-5 month for 5 pounds of muscle if you gonna loose SOME of it by taking off flab? Stay lean and you gonna gain those 5 pounds in 5 month (all numbers are just an example to show the point). Sure you might say that i gained little, yes you gained ONLY muscle and not fat... And guess what, since you dont need to diet you not gonna waste those 15 weeks and some pounds of your hard earned muscle!

When you diet like hell, you can loose muscle like hell.
SO stay lean and you will get the MOST muscle that way.

By taking lots of calories and gaining lots of fat and muscle you are not as quick in the end result! You have to like take 15 mongth to diet it off and even then you might loose some muscle.

But if you go lean, then you dont have to diet AND you can continue gaining pure muscle mass while the other guy is LOOSING muscle dieting useless fat off.

Sure going the lean way you dont get ego boosted by saying (I gained 10 pounds last week>). Yep, flab can boost peoples ego...
But you are gaining the same amount of muscle, just no flab.

Easy

You can't keep your abs. I wouldn't work them twice as hard ... its not like they grow twice as fast if you do that ...

Watch the calories and you can limit how fast they fade, but you also limit how much lean mass you can put on. If you keep doing your ab exercises well ... your abs will be under there, and will look even better when you cut up. Its not like they "go away" they just disappear behind fat like any other muscle. When you lower your bf %, they will come back even better, no doubt.

You can and probably keep your abs while bulking up.l If they start to disappeare behind blubber, you are taking in too much calories! Those calories are now being put to the gut and not to the muscle! What a waste!

Gain more and faster by staying lean ALL the time, unless you want to be a sumo wresteler.

I don't get it

Im not sure how you can get bigger faster by staying "ripped" 24/7/52. It just doesn't work that way. Yes, if you start to get a little blubber, you are taking in too many calories ... but that is what you are supposed to be doing! Taking in more calories than you burn is what you have to do to gain ANY weight, beit muscle or fat ... inevitably, you can't shuttle all those into the muscle tissue, that is impossible. And you can't burn fat and build muscle unless you are a beginner, that is also impossible. For the vast majority of us, I'd say, you make the best gains while eating like a king! That doesn't mean sit around and become a lardass. Most people I talk to make the most impressive gains while having a bodyfat ABOVE 12%! Is there a reason for this? Maybe? I don't know. But I do know you can't stay at 4% bodyfat year round and get "truly huge" if that is what you aim to do.
