Is there anyway to gain mass(bulk) and keep the abs?

Im not sure how you can get bigger faster by staying "ripped" 24/7/52. It just doesn't work that way. Yes, if you start to get a little blubber, you are taking in too many calories ... but that is what you are supposed to be doing! Taking in more calories than you burn is what you have to do to gain ANY weight, beit muscle or fat ... inevitably, you can't shuttle all those into the muscle tissue, that is impossible. And you can't burn fat and build muscle unless you are a beginner, that is also impossible. For the vast majority of us, I'd say, you make the best gains while eating like a king! That doesn't mean sit around and become a lardass. Most people I talk to make the most impressive gains while having a bodyfat ABOVE 12%! Is there a reason for this? Maybe? I don't know. But I do know you can't stay at 4% bodyfat year round and get "truly huge" if that is what you aim to do.

Listen. 99% of all peoeple can ONLY gain 10 pounds of pure muscle per year. That equates to 1 pound per MONTH! Obviously you dont need to bulk up to 50+ pounds of blubber for those 10 pounds that not even everyopne can get.

Look Dorian yates in his 13 years of bodybuilding gained about 90 pounds of muscle. That is about 6 pounds per fucking year! Well actually in his first 2 years he gained 30 pounds of muscle. Was he undernourished, or under drugged???? NO!

If he wasnt been able to gain like 50 pounds in 1 year, do you think you would? ' How can you vene compare to him??

Was he undernourished or under fed NO!

Plus if you bulk up, you would have to loose it... WASTED TIME! The guy who is ripped 24/7 would CONTINUE to gain muscle, while the other guy is loosing it!

... was over his natural limit. You can't compare him to a natural bodybuilder. Also, his genetics are better than mine or yours ... Also, he did bulk up, he wasn't in contest mode 12 months a year.

Great posts guys, helps a lot. I'm all natural so from what I've seen I've concluded that it's just not worth maintaining the abs that i want. Although I will try to stay a bit more lean and be more strict about the foods I eat. I'll stay away from the "see food" diet. You know, you see it, you eat it.:D

And because he bulked up 1988 he came up lighter than he should. He lost quite a bit of hard earned muscle. If drugged up guy like him lost muscle through diet, that should send you a signal that... DIETING OFF body fat is bad, try to be lean as possible all the time so you dont have to loose muscle.

What is the point of bulking up when you loose like 1/2 years worth of muscle????

Staying lean you dont have such problem! Sure you gain little, but all you gain is muscle. Leave your machismo and become a bodybuilder!

Bodybuilder, not a BELLY BUILDER!
