But wouldn't you want to know if your friend is on roids if he got as strong as you in less time and he kept bugging you that he is as strong and will surpass you quickly.
 
i dont think he's on roids... thats with my limited knowledge, but no.. i dont think he's on stuff... may be its just the effect of creatine...?

Some people are more gifted than others, and also, people have different strengths. It shouldn't bother you that much, and if he is overly obnoxious about it, punch him in the face before he gets too big, and at the rate he is going, it'll be soon, so you better act now, lol.

Seriously, your friend may just be more gifted for building strength than you.....you may be a better endurance athlete or better looking or smarter, lol.....he may also just be a better presser (or even more specific, a better dumbell presser).....maybe you blow him away on squats or pulls or both. Find something you're better at and bust him right back. Friendly banter can work like that.
 
There's not enough info to tell. If someone trains hard then such a leap is not unreasonable. Watch and see whether he does it again a couple more times over similar time periods. Even that won't be conclusive.

Give your mate a break. It can be annoying to get accused by those around you of being on steroids when you're simply busting your balls in the gym. To have someone called 'friend' accuse you can really piss you off.

My wife has been convinced that I've been on steroids for the past couple of years. I can dismiss it since I know she doesn't know what she's talking about. Beware lest your friend dump you in that category.

Like BiggT says, find a lift you can beat him on and build a mutually competetive rivalry. You'll each grow and can sit back while people mutter about "those two juicers".
 
I really hope that someone using the 85's on flat dbell bench isn't on performance enhancing substances.

Man, you've been out of the commercial gyms too long, lol.....While you're 100% right and I agree with you 100%, the sad truth is that people everywhere are using steroids when there is NO need.....I see 19 year old kids at the gym talking about taking a gram of test a week, then I see them struggle to bench 275 for a single....it's truly pathetic.
