If you have gained muscle and lost fat at the same time, post how you did it.

The Shadow -

You're signature is obnoxious.... I'll give you $1 to change it to something that doesn't take up the entire screen.

You can pay ME one dollar not to edit yours......

We need to ask Kevin Levrone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Frank Zane, Franco and all the old Venice beach guys. They all get (Kevin)/got bigger for contests. They would add mass and lose fat at the same time. Maybe it really is all genetics. It amazes me Arnold went from a soft 210 when doing Stay Hungry to a hard as a rock 232 in 3 months for the 75 Olympia. Kevin Levrone does this every year as well, bulks up while losing fat. I could see with todays drugs how Kevin may have an advantage, but what about all the old guys in Venice? Maybe the clean eating and the double split had a lot to do with it....

Or we could all ask AAP. That guy is huge at 240 5'11, hard as a rock and more vascular than just about anyone, even a pro bb in contest shape. I *think* he eats very high protein, low-moderate carbs and just busts his ass in the gym. He seems to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time.

the BF%%% may change, like in the post above, but you have NOT lost actual fat mass.

this is not a theory of mine, to gain weight, muscle OR fat, you need more colories then your body need for maintanace. how is muscle supposed to grow without proper nutrition? and dont say "extra protein"!! when you have an overall calory deficit, to lose BF, and you crank up the protein, the extra protein will go through a process called glycogenesis, where it WILL BE TURNED TO SUGAR!!!!!! no muscle gains! your brain function is more important to the body then gaining muscle, so your body will convert any extra nutrients for the benefit of the brain! which is glycogen.

Not to be a stickler but, its 'gluconeogenesis'. Also, the brain or any other body cell for that matter doesnt utilize glycogen for anything(for most part). The brain and other cells use glucose or certain derivatives/metabolites of glucose for energy. Glycogen is simply glucose in a highly branched, large storage form. Anyways, to the point in question, I agree totally %100 with you and Needsize.

Does anyone have any diet/fat burning tips such as Low intensity cardio on an empty stomach, or immediatly following a workout. We all know steroids will help you accomplish this, but you still need a diet to accieve your goal.

It can easily be done with the right drugs, the right macronutrient balance, and a clean diet. Not a calorie deficet diet, but a clean one. Will the net gain be the same a few months after?? Its hard to say. I personally would rather stay leaner the whole way through. Also, many people dont like to blow up and then cut down. Many do though, so decide what you want. Trying to gain muscle while losing fat defintely takes more dedication. Remember that the more muscular you become, the easier and faster your body becomes at burning fat.

ITA.............It's an issue of diet/dedication/nutrition, there are some of us who have lean muscle and gain more without bloating up to a doughboy to gain 5-10 lbs of LBM.

I also believe it's a matter of preference. BULKING UP and gaing 25+ lbs just to keep maybe 10 is Easiest for most people. However if you've got your diet dialed in for Your body this is not an option for you.

I may not be a Chemical Wizard but I do know about dieting this is an easy oneTHOSE WHO CAN'T BLOAT.
