If you have gained muscle and lost fat at the same time, post how you did it.

I think to generalize, putting on a large amount of muscle while keeping the diet clean will lead to some extra weight loss. Actually that would be extra fat loss. Also, with the additional muscle mass and the change in appearance, your bodyfat will appear to have decreased.

with only eating 2000-2800 cals a day you are gonna burn away fat but you wont gain any muscle. eat some more clean cals. alltraps said it right on the money

I have done it. And so have other members of my gym...
Theres no magic formula. its call diet and dedication.

Also think about this:

Guy is 200lbs at 12% bodyfat

Guy gains 20lbs of muscle and doesn't gain or lose any fat.

Guy is now 220lbs and a little less than 11%bodyfat.

the BF%%% may change, like in the post above, but you have NOT lost actual fat mass.

this is not a theory of mine, to gain weight, muscle OR fat, you need more colories then your body need for maintanace. how is muscle supposed to grow without proper nutrition? and dont say "extra protein"!! when you have an overall calory deficit, to lose BF, and you crank up the protein, the extra protein will go through a process called glycogenesis, where it WILL BE TURNED TO SUGAR!!!!!! no muscle gains! your brain function is more important to the body then gaining muscle, so your body will convert any extra nutrients for the benefit of the brain! which is glycogen.
