i heard that diet soda might trigger insulin release just by virtue of being sweet

Re: i heard that diet soda might trigger insulin release just by virtue of being swee

thats all BS....all artificial sweetener studies which state harm are mostly funded by big sugar companies that are taking the hit...

oh and eating/drinking sugars and HFCS is not bad for you right??? hehe

I don't think sweetness means insulin release, and the argument can be expressed as follows:

Consider the sugars fructose, sucrose, glucose. Their GI and insulin response varies significantly, with fructose being very low, glucose very high, and sucrose in the middle.

YET, in terms of sweetness, fructose is much sweeter than glucose, and sucrose is in between.

Fructose has a very low insulin response - lower than any carbohydrate not shielded by fibre - and yet its the sweetest.

Hence, I'm doubting there is a link between sweet taste and insulin.

Further, from personal experience I have lost weight and consume a lot of diet coke. Too much I think and I'm trying to remove the addiction as I don't doubt its plausible that there may be other dangers, but I'm doubting weight gain is one

If diet soda triggers an insulin release, the prescribed PWO shake should be now:
- BCAA, whey, waxy maize AND DIET COKE.

And the more diet coke PWO the better apparently under this logic

lol no need to be a smart-ass, even an insulin response a fraction of that of regular coke would still be shitty. But i guess the research shows that is bs
