Man, I did this the first month I moved to FTL. I went out ocean fishing and caught the first Marlin of the season. The boat had a flag to fly on the way back in, announcing that their client caught the first marlin. All the other boats idled down and honked their horns for us and cheered. My trip was free for that.
However, it was hellacious work. It took 3 hours to land that bitch. Each time I got it near the boat, it would run back out. I kept telling the captain to shoot it each time it came near. My shoulder was killing me. I was strapped in that chair and the seat belt was cutting off circulation from the waist down. The dumb ass captain could not hold the drink with the straw steady for me to drink anything either. I had to chase it down in the air with my mouth.
The weird thing was when I had this fish hooked, and he was jumping out of the water, he had all these colors and bright reflections. When we landed him on the boat. There was no color. He was a brownish gray. Then they clubbed him behind the eye and killed him and he turned dark brown. They told me that it was the water that brought out all the color. But the taxidermist (free also) did bring back all the color. Looks amazing. I have/had it outside on my patio above the outdoor fireplace.
