Im training for a show in 10 wks so I started doing it everyday...but the gal Im working with said 2xwk.

just curious what everyone thinks and does. thanks :)

I'm doign it ever 2 days when I also get my bodyfat checked. We use this info to determine any meal changes.

Normally I'd agree w/ doing it no more than 1/week because it is really sort of incomplete data as far as gauging progress if you dont' know your bodyfat. It can start to mess with your mind if check it every day & then start obsessing about it.

But in my mind it depends on what you use the data for. If it has a purpose, then keep that as your context, otherwise you can freak out over it. The only place its even relevant for competition is for bodybuildign if you are trying to get into a particular weight class. Figure only uses height as a class identifier.

I don't check my weight as much as I should. I use to check it once a week and I need to start doing that again. I'm becoming addicted to pinching some skin with my calipers, which isn't good.

I read some recent research regarding people who had successfully lost weight and kept it off for a period of years. Their research showed that those who weighed themselves daily (or frequently) were more successful. Maybe it ties into an overall vigilance regarding diet and weight loss?

Personally, i weigh myself every AM after my morning potty break and before breakfast. I'm obsessive that way.

I weigh every morning after the bathroom.... I have a sheet that I look at that has my bf and weight calculated over the past 6 months. You begin to see patterns in weight fluctuations and can guage when you will be a few pounds heavier... or lighter....
