How aggressively do you carb load?

What's up guys and gals? I had the first of my 2 shows this summer on Saturday. I think everybody who competes probably says this, but I looked better the day after the show and maybe even still today. I don't think I hit the carbs early enough in the week before dropping my water. I started carb loading on Wednesday night and started my lasix on Thursday night. I'm not carb sensitive and I think given more time I would have filled out and looked even better. I got 2nd in the heavyweight novice (it was a toss up) and 4th in the heavyweight open (should have been 3rd), but I feel like I definitely missed my peak. I'm gonna either start my carb load a little earlier or start my lasix on Friday night instead of Thursday night just to give myself a chance to fill out. Obviously this is different for everyone, the last week is pretty tricky. It messes with your head. Just curious as to what other competitive guys have hit number wise in terms of carbs.

Ive only carb loaded for photo shoots. Which might be a little bit different than what you are going after.

This is what I follow..

No carbs Sunday, Monday or Tuesday...
Keep sodium high during deplete until 2 days out.
High volume Sunday, Monday and Tuesday 20sets per bodypart.
Deplete carbs by half on the three low days.
Thursday and Friday I take 8 g of omega-3, 1g of hydrox acid, 500mg chromium and 500mg R-ALA.
Sunday till Wednesday I double water intake. Start to cutback on Friday.
2g potassium all week.
30 mililiters of gycerol Thursday and Friday
Wed, Thurs and Friday I usually hit 1.75 times my daily carbs.

Then I just use the mirror...

Good luck bro. You look awesome. Im sure you got it all down.

Hey congrats bro..i dont compete myself..well not yet...but here is a question for you...when you carbload or you competitors carb load..do you eat in the middle of the night too? or just in the waking ours??? meaning if your eating every 2 hours do you still wake up for carbs at night or just sleep and start all over in the morning?

In order to carb load effectively it is essential to eat throughout an entire 24 hour period. That means getting up in the middle of the night to eat.

Silver PM me bro. I'll help you out for your next one.

Agreed, you have to keep eating. I overdieted so badly and went so flat that I actually have looked better every day. I'm on my 3rd day after the show now and I still look better than I did on-stage which means I was extremely flat. I should have spilled and looked smooth by now. I will hit you with a PM Mak.

I wanted to make the show, but had too much annoying work shit. Never heard from Behemoth or Recruit to find out if either of them were coming either, and figured you'd probably be too busy and too preoccupied for a meet-up. So, apart from missing your peak by a day, how was it? Did you have fun? How was the competition?

It was definitely a good time. I had a small entourage with me. It was a good show. The pro fitness chicks were absolutely amazing athletically and aesthetically. I'm doing the Mr. Missouri a week from today. I'm looking forward to it.

When I use to compete what I found really helped with carb loading was using Test Suspension. Be careful with it though, if you run it too long you will go from making your muscles extremley full to carrying bloat. I use to start Suspension 2 weeks out from the show and when I carb loaded I had much better results when I used suspension. I never fooled around with Diuretics so I have no idea how Suspension would play into that mix. If you are going to try it, I would probably experiment first and not try it for a show the first time incase you wind up bloating or have some other issue with it.
