Horrible Problem With Body Hair

I'm 22, and I've been plagued with an inordinate amount of body hair ever since I can remember. I've never seen another male with a heavy dark upper arm and shoulder hair beard like mine at my age before. I've never done a cycle or any prohormones yet, but I was wondering what an underlying problem might be? I am 5-10 178 with 9.0% BF and work out regularly. I eat a good diet with 7-8 meals a day while not spiking my insulin levels a great deal. I have heard people with insulin problems can develop thick terminal hairs but I don't know if this is the case with me.

To put this in perspective, I have a constant line of hair from my forearms to my upper arms up to my shoulders which actually gets thicker on my upper arms and shoulders. I have heavy stomach, chest, and alot of neck hair leading up into my beard. I have no back hair though.

I've tried everything. I've tried to shave, but that is impossible for my hair is too thick and I get huge irratation and pimples. I've tried waxing, but again irritation. I've tried Kalo and other inhibitors that don't seem to work wair. I've tried nair, again bad results burns irratation etc. I've even tried 3 lasers (GentleLase, Apologee, Lyra), and 2 IPL's. Overall I've probably had about 25 treatments. Nothing has worked long term, but they all induce the hair to shed, and give me a temporary relatively hair free period of 7-8 weeks.

I've spent over ten thousand dollars on laser so now I just do maintenance every 12 weeks with the Palomar EsteLux which gives me a hair free period half of the time, but half of the time I can't come into any sexual contact or take my shirt off. Alot of people on this board seem pretty knowledgeable about hormones and the body so I thought it couldn't hurt to ask if anybody knows how I can fix my problem!

Dude. Bummer. I am a pretty hairy guy as well. But not to the degree that it sounds like you are. I started pretty early on being hairy too. 31 now. I have never gone down the laser route. Wife has. But I have started using a hair removal cream that has taken off the hair where I don't want it. Like the back, ass and shoulders. So far, no in-growns/pimples. Little irritation within a day or so of doing it. I use a couple of different trimmers for the rest depending on where and how little I want to leave. Otherwise, I don't know much about what makes some of us hairy, and some of us not. Keep us posted though. You aren't the only one.

Good luck!

Why can't you come into sexual contact or take your shirt off? You seem a little too self conscious. At least you don't have any on your back.

You exfoliate and all that before you attempt shaving?

Yes, I've tried using womens razors with wire guards, razors developed for black men. The best thing that has worked for me is using a 140 dollar non cirular electric razor. I use this when the hair is starting to grow back from my hair free period but I get irratation big time if I try shaving when all of it has grown back.

If I took my shirt off and one of the girls I was seeing saw me with my shirt off it would be over. No chicks want to see a guy with a beard on their shoulders. Luckily, over half of the time tho it isn't really noticeable. Anybody know anything else I could try? Hey sacto, what hair removal creme do you use? I've tried nair but it burns me and doesn't get the stubble away.

Set hair clippers without the guard to one of the lowest settings and trim the hair. you will not have any itrritation like you would with shaving. i understand this must be very frustrating for you as well as affecting your relationship with women as well. The treatments with the lazer hair removal have been unsuccessfull for you so i would suggest not to pump anymore money into that route. The amount and location of hair follicles is predetermined during embryonic/fetal development. Yes androgens do turn velus(fine , wispy, pre puberty) into terminal(thick dark) hair as for body hair(i wish it was like that for scalp hair). as well as GH levels, retinoic acid receptors, the list is endless, and the trancriptional coregulators are poorly understood at best. he is a link that will further help your understanding of the subject of your concern. endo journal

hair clippers once or twice a week do a good job regardless how hairy. My skin gets too irrratated with other methods like shaving, nair...

Good quality pair of hair clippers at lowest setting works for me best.

Has hair inhibators work for anyone else with sucess?
