Hell on the Hill Strongman/Woman Challenge: I won.

Wow! You told yourself you would do 20?? and then you did 25? That is what I call mental toughness. Awesome deadlift as well.

I have a question about that last deadlift picture. It is basically a rack pull from above the knee right? It is nto as hard as the regular deadlift, and you cant use straps

:elephant: Awesome! :drink2:

Sounds like everyone had a great time. I'm so glad you did so well! You've worked hard girl!

I'm enjoying the pictures too! Keep sharing the fun. :)

Thanks, again folks!

Spatts: On how awesome that deadlift felt? Oh yeah. Really good. Just really good.

JJ: Really? Wow. You know I haven't taken any measurements. I know since taking up strongman training, combined with the increase oly-lifting, that I have been getting denser, thicker (in a good way :)) and stronger. My legs also have received added LBM. Thank god!!!!

B fold: Oh man, you have to! Tire deads are very much fun. And despite what they look like (partial deads), very challenging. revexrevex, you know in some contests with either tire or deads with blocks, they do allow sumo. Crazy, huh? Tod specifically said "No Sumo" for this contest. With sumo, it would have been a, what, 2 or 3-inch lift (depending on how tall you were) only. Another thing is this: with me, my weak point on the dead has been the lockout. I've never encountered an issue with initial pull, just the lockout. With tire deads, I've been able to work on that weak point.

Same as these other guys with the semi-truck tires. Really depends on where your weak point is. Trust me, there were ALOT of guys who failed their third attempt.

MrsPuddles: glad you're enjoying the pics! And I've got more!

:D

Here's Jason (Novice Men), during his run on the Yolk.

And that's Julie runing along side. Despite the fact she was competing (heavyweight women), she was also doing what she could to make sure this contest went smoothly.

Here's a shot of the official start of the contest. The Yolk.

And here's a closeup of the First Place "Trophies". The infamous skull.

Julie and her 475lb dead. Whoa.

Larry (middleweight men), and his successful 835lb dead. Larry and his training partner, Bob (also in middleweight men), train at the same gym as Ko and I. We're often in the next rack or platform to them. When we first met these guys, they were performing squats; sets of 10 with 405lbs. Below parallel (former competititive powerlifters). Larry placed second here. Marc Wechter beat him for first by 1/2 point!!!!

Julie and the 140lb log press (the log weighs 120lbs by itself). Right now, I'm not sure as to her exact reps, but I do know she punched out more than 10. Yowzers.

And here's the pic of just the lightweight women. Machill (second place here and winner of the Strongest in the West lightweight women), Victoria, third; and me.

NASS does not allow for sumo deads in a partial deadlift. I can pull a lot more conventional anyway. I honestly think I could pull close to a grand...who knows though.

Bfold, remmeber you posted thoes partial deadlift videos of Schoonie (where he struggled with that deadlift for like 20 seconds). That was 18" deadlift right? Is that harder or easier than the tires. How much do you think you can do on that?

Congratulations slinky! Gosh, you really are one whole lotta woman. I am SO glad you're here on the boards with us. Lucky Ko! :)
