Half Way to Another New Beginning with ntbm

Change, the only constant in life.

So I got into this superset thing, and I am looking F'n good. But I've tweaked it for now.

Sun - Superset back/superset rear deltoid-traps/ superset bis
Mon - Legs, heavy
Tue - Superset bis, tris
Wed - Off
Thur - Superset chest and back
Fri - Legs, light

I hit my 365 pound squat again this week. It was just about a year ago I decided to get my squat together to do the 5x5's for 12 weeks. I had to work around a right ankle that doesn't bend (which is why I hadn't done squats before). I started with a 3" board under my heels to keep my right heel down throughout the motion. I gradually brought that down to where I have 1" lifts in my Chuck Taylors, which is standard in olympic lifting shoes. I went from a 45 pound empty bar to 365 pound squat in 1 year.

Anything is possible with determination and hard work. And the super charger for me is a strong faith that gives me courage when I want to run away, and eases my mind when I get ahead of myself.

Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo is like the roar of the lion!

I just hit a 385 pound squat for a new personal record. The young guys are always coming up to me with their questions on training and diet, and I always try to express sincerity in my responses. I tell them, there is no secret; hard work, determination, focus, discipline, and a strong spiritual faith are the ingredients for a successful life. Weight lifting and bodybuilding are just examples of how this approach can be used in everything we do.

I had to run to the car to get the T-shirt I brought to train in, and being lazy, I just ran out with no top on so I wouldn't have to go back up to the locker room before hitting the weights. I spent my entire training session getting fist bumps and nods from the regulars. I'm a sucker for flatery, but enough if enough, LOL!

Thanx for checling in bonacris.

I feel my arms have really filled in the past couple of weeks. I am eating constantly, and the supersetting is helping me keep a nice pump. I'm going to move to 3 days heavy/3 days lighter again, and may keep supersetting in the lighter days. For now I'm going to start with a pyramid up, down to 4-6 reps on the heavy days.

I am feeling really full, confident, and relaxed.

Thanx gymrat. Like we tell everyone on the board, do your research, develop at plan, and then post it for feedback. I strive to walk the walk as a way of encouraging other bro's with my actions. Another reason the sight is so great, as it is consistent with Buddhism for me. Share your determination, be open to guidance, and then slam it with spiritual practice and concrete effort.

I'm doing squat reps with 365 pounds now. Turning the tears of a personal breakthrough into another golden memory of my journey, my struggle.

So here is another determination; Muscle Beach Competition, September, 2014.

All I ever wanted was a fighting chance. I'm liking my odds.
