GG's.. Running away from old age log....

Yes ..that one no problem.....lol....the next one I might have to delay due to swimming issues LOLOL

WooooHOOOOO! A real triathlon in a month!! How long is the swim leg?

It's smart to do your first one in the swimming pool. Some people get real freaked out in the open water/ocean. Since I have lost body fat, I'm less buoyant. It takes more work now! My race in October will be in lake Pinehurst. Wet suits should be legal and they help my legs float! Keep that in mind if you choose to do an open water race. Wetsuits are a legal way of cheating! :)

You probably need to practice bricks. Getting right off your bike and running a few miles. The very first race I did, I was shocked because my legs felt like tree trunks and after going 18mph on the bike, I felt like I was a turtle crawling.

Let us know how long that swim/bike/run is, you made need to eat some gels.

UGH I tried a gel and it was nasty LOL...need to experiment with them I guess LOL....37 laps which is 1/2 mile swim......I rode 10 miles the other day and then ran 3 right after and thought I was dying lol...what a change when you are doing it back to back!!

Sept 19th.....

Okay I need to talk to Shadow lol
Diet macros...50 c/30 pro/20 fat.....is this to out of whack??

Yesterday ran 4.5 miles....just a slow run but ran it all with out stoping....wooo hoo

hey gg....congrats on your time and your placing :)

question...are you eating anything before the races? are they at night or usually in the morning? what are you eating the night before? i played collegiate tennis so i know that nerves can reak havoc on your eating habits...but i would force down a shake a few hours before to make sure i has some fuel for my match.

Well they are in the am......so if I ate I am soooo pukey for the first mile....combo of food and nerves....so I tried to eat goo....which is gel and I couldn't do it...way to sweet for me...any ideas would be great...I do eat carbs with every meal and snack the day before......my biggest problem jpt is nerves...they are gonna kill me lol

well, everyone has there own way of dealing with nerves....that is an individual obstacle only you can figure out...for me personally i looked at myself in the mirror and calle myself a p#ssy countless times b/c when you think about it there;s really nothing to get nervous about...your not getting sent off to war...your not jumping pff a cliff...etc etc....i made myself have fun!!! of course it didn't always work....and sometimes the nerves made me play better. it's just something you need to deal with.

my advice nutrition wise would be to eat a ton of pasta the night before or some oatmeal....or maybe even a shake with 1 cup or 1 cups of oats. you need energy to compete gg!!

nerves can be good as well to get the adrenal going but too much is bad. You prepare yourself pretty good for the races RELAX LOL I know easy for me to say!

I can't eat before a 5k.......I cramp up if I do....so I have to run on an empty stomach or just a couple of egg whites......I chew gum when I run to keep my mouth moist (can't drink water either or I cramp) & wear a nose strip so I can breathe.....

Okay that is what I have to the night before....I just have to find what works with my body .......My hibby says "run your own race" and keep entering them so you get used to them lol...which I think there is alot if truth there too! Thanks for your advice...I will work with this one!

Jen....I can't drink water because my nerves make me have to pee every 10 min lol...but I drink a ton the week before which they say makes a big difference....
