Back again, time to update everybodies lifting, how's your circa max's doing? Last week mine was 405 with the blue and green bands, this week 435 same bands last set added purple/pink band , moved about the same, looks like I might just suprise myself and pull this meet off with a good total despite all the minor setbacks :D elbow kills my speed on bench and left shoulder is screaming only when I squat now. That's what it means to be a powerlifter-every always squats higher than you, their belly is bigger- something always hurts-and when you get strong your always out of breath. it's good to be strong.
 
Sounds like it should be a good meet for you.

Just got done with our Circa Max Workout. Meet is Nov 23rd. Used 309 + Blue/Pink. Speed was ok. Don't have a monolift, and when I squat the bar rolls down. When that happens my thumbs get locked under the bar. I have to stand there with that band tension till I get my hands free. Walking it out with bands SUCKS!!
 
I think the bands tend to make the bar roll easier, I have the same problem once in a while and I train in a mono-lift. This your first circa max leading to this meet? which meet btw? what's your goals?

Been through the circa max before. This is the first time I have done it with the proper band tension. APF Meet in Tulsa Nov. 23rd. As far as goals...I set my band cycle up for a 600+ squat. The way things are going I should be closer to 7. Gonna take some free squats Monday to finally KNOW where I am.
 
oh hell yeah -- I am fired up. I used 350 +blue and greens last week, this week 375 +blues and greens, then the final week I will go 375 +blues, greens and purples, a week deload adn I will be ready. My elbow pain has finally went away. I don't know why, or how but it just disappeared. However, now my shoudler feels weird. Look forward to meeting you in Columbus.

Just curious 1-dawg...what weight and band combination are you using for your deload week? Have you tried a two week deload and found that one week works better? Or did you just decide 1 week was what you wanted to do?

The reason I ask is that we changed meets we were going to do. We are losing a week of training. I was tryin to keep the 2 week deload so I was going to take the fouth (47%) week of the Circa Max phase. If I knew I could get my speed back with a one week deload I would prefer to do all 4 weeks of the Circa Max.

Interested in what you or anyone that has done a 2 week deload compared to a 1 week deload think...
 
Hannibal-do you mean one speed day after the max circa or two? We do three max weeks then one more light speed week and don't lift the week of the meet. example-10/19 405+bands first week 10/26 435+bands second week 11/2 455+bands third week 11/9 light speed 6 sets 2 reps 11/15 nothing lift on 11/17

That's what I was asking. In Dave's article (which is kinda old) he listed the Circa Max phase as 4 week...47%, 51%, 53%, 47%....then a 1 or 2 week deload. We just did the second week of the Circa. We have 3 more squat workouts. So was tryin to decide on 2 weeks of Circa/1 week Deload...or 1 week Circa/2 week Deload.
