Food Allergies - Omega3/Fish - what are my alternatives?

Hey folks - I'm 30 years old and only recently have picked up a nasty allergy to fish. One day just fine, next day in the ER and nearly dead...scary stuff but from what I've learned it is fairly typical to pick up fish allergies in adulthood out of no where.

thus, how does one go about replacing the wonderful nutrients from fish and fish oils in one's diet? What are the alternatives out there? I have taken fish oil for years (I wonder if that has anything to do with picking up my fish allergy)....I really want to replace that in my diet somehow so I can get all the good stuff with out the ER visits.

Thanks!
Dylan

Hi Dylan

Why not try some cold pressed flaxseed oil it's crammed full of omega's. It's also labelled as linseed oil in some retailers. Hope that works out ok for you

Thanks - I have actually looked into flax seed oil. Generally speaking, What is stopping me is the fear of what happened to me and my concern about trying things that I have not used before. I'm not saying there is any connection from fish oils to flax, just heightened sense of care in what I put in my body these days.

THanks for the suggesstion - flax is probably what I'll end up using, but still curious what else is out there for fish allergy alternatives.
