First Cycle Help

Its something I've found to work for me over the years, I read a good while back that fats slow down the absorption of everything else, so when your body is in that 'receptive' state post workout, once you've had your whey/glucose shake you just want to beat down loads of protein and carbs for a few hours...

Now its been a good while since I've done a ton of reading on nutrition so I don't know if all that holds up to what current studies are suggesting etc but I do know that I saw a marked improvement in my results when I started using that strategy...

Just out of curiosity why do you avoid fats post workout? For me when I eat fats post workout I get a huge testosterone spike that helps me recover from the workout

If your running a low carb or ketogenic/ ckd then there is nothing wrong with fats post workout. I do it every day and am leaning out as we speak. Calories in vs calories out still holds the most merit in nutrition. Keep protein high and the remaining cals under maintainance and you will drop fat regardless of when you eat what. In fact the longer you fast, or keep away from carbs the better your insulin sensitivity will become and when cutting fat that helps tremendously. I generally don't eat until a few hours after my workout, unless I'm trying to build muscle then ill slam oats n whey post workout

It all depends on the goal that is desired... There is a different method to different goals... You also need to factor in the age of the person, personal physiological makeup, etc... You can throw as many studies, res, etc. but there are a million different factors for EACH individual that more than likely ate determined through trial and error... I think i have enough experience with these concepts, enough clients made successful as well as enough personal experience to qualify my answer...

Definitely a lot to be said for trial and error, probably why a lot of guys turn to gear too early, it takes a long time to discover and refine what works diet wise and newbs get frustrated making less than stellar gains in the meantime... Anyway to the OP you seem to be on the right track.... Just make sure you get in your fish oils also vitamin c and green tea can be good tools for leaning out as well...
