Enlarged heart and HGH, also question for Ulter.

Well first of all guys, I have a lot to say, but I'm not gonna get started on this thread. I've been on HGH for 2 1/2 weeks, of a planned 6 month cycle. CAREFULLY planned I might add. It will be my last cycle of what we consider hardcore anabolics. The HGH is obviously for hyperplasia, and permanent muscle gains. I need to know if anyone here has ever tested positive for an enlarged heart. It is pretty common among weightlifting athletes and I have read numerous posts about it on EF. Anyone gone through a HGH cycle with this condition? Also Ulter, about two years ago you mentioned something that I have been researching heavily. It was Viagra and Cialis, and thier effect on reducing the heart size. By now there should be more studies done and possibly something on the way for humans to start being prescribed these for heart conditions. I have a lot of info that I am going to post in another thread, but for now I just need some experiences from HGH users who may have symptoms of an enlarged heart (particularly left Ventricle). Please no dumb opinions. I've heard it all, researched it all, and done it all over the last 15 years, so if you haven't, then don't even reply.

Organomegaly is a symptom of acromegaly, which is oversecretion of GH from the pituitary. You can indeed experience cardiomegaly from GH use (really though, it would be abuse at this point). The dosage would likely be on the order of 10+ iu daily for many, many years. If you are really that concerned, you can go have an echocardiogram done. It will tell you all you want to know and more about your ventricular volume, and the presence/absence of any septal and/or free wall hypertrophy.

As far as viagra and cialis reducing heart size, this is definitely something I'd like to read about. They're both phosphodiesterase (PDE) inhibitors, and to my knowledge they are targetted at PDE-5, which is mostly found in the penis. The end results is vasodilation. I can't seem to reason how this would reverse cardiomegaly, so it must be an unforseen effect somewhere down the metabolic line.

i would agree with 52...it has to be lots of iu's ed for many years...in fact in most studies i have read about growth they are giving the kids like 35iu ed for a year and shit like that...fuckin crazy

A good friend of mine was diagosed with idiopathic short stature in his childhood. He was on GH during puberty and grew to full height. What you might not hear about that much is that when you give kids GH during puberty, everything grows. Yes, that's right. He's got a third leg. I told him to go into the business but he's too shy.

The research you speak of concerning ventrical enlargement took place in absence of any GH or steroids in powerlifters. Many years of weight training can cause this to happen, as you mentioned. The majority of the studies seem to show that the left venticular cavity during diastole and systole is not subject to alterations under the use of steroids. [Effects of Androgenic-Anabolic Steroids in Athletes; Fred Hartgens1 and Harm Kuipers2] But those studies didn't include GH use. And I am sure this hasn't gotten much funding for research like steroids do. So I don't think you'll find an answer it the literature. Personally I think GH can effect you in ways no one is writing about though, at higher doses. Mainly because in 2001 I grew a shoe size using 9iu/day. :)

Yes viagra/cialis provides a reduction of pulmonary artery pressure. This may correct the ventrical problem in weight training athletes. Several studies on using PDE5 inhibitors to treat people with LV problems were published last month and more are coming.

Funny you mention the shoe size Ulter. I still can't find any fitted caps to fit me. I had a watermelon head to begin with but my first ever run of GH was 5 iu/day for about 8 months. Now I'm more conservative (6-8 iu eod) and getting just as good results without the sides. I think that at 10+ IU daily is when you start to get that cromagnon protruding brow line and rapid orgnomegaly.

Thanks for the reply guys! The deal is I already know I have an enlarged left ventricle. It was discovered when I was 21, and it was from lifting. I know this is common in weight training athletes. I'm getting an echo done tommorow so we'll see what's happened in the last 8 years. I just started the GH, and I know there won't be any studies on it's effects on the heart. Just wondering if you guys had any personal experiences or knew of anyone with this condition that had taken AS, and particularly GH. The studies for Viagra and Cialis are very interesting, and I'm gonna have to look into those more. I'll be the guinee pig if necassary.

I posted about this exact same thing a couple years ago. Im not plat so i cant dig up the post, but it was titled:

Any docs here...enlarged left vetricle

Try a search on the above thread title

What is enlarged? The volume of your LV? The free wall thickness? Long term GH use at a decent dose will actually shrink the volume of your LV because it will increase the free wall and septal thickness.
