Do Your Legs Grow Bigger With High Reps Or Low Reps or a Combination?

The DC routine that I am on requires one set of each. Here is what I follow:

1 x 4-8 (really heavy reps), then 1 x 20 (lighter reps)

I am able to hit both types of muscle fibers.

Essentially, to gain size in the muscle you must train all types of muscle fibers.

high reps here, definitely in the 20 range. Incidentally this also works perfectly because i need the endurance for down hill skiing but want the size as well. So i am lucky to repond to high reps for size and endurance.

Thigh size is about 28 inches cold, at 6'2 235lbs.

heavy or light, low or high reps, slow or explosive - it doesn't matter, mine grow a lot :)

But one thing - the more often I squat per week the faster they grow. man they blew up squatting 3 times a week!
1.75 inches on the suckers in 3 weeks on the mini smolov!

You have a good work ethic, but, I'd venture to say that if you cut that to one-two days a week, they'd grow even bigger. Not a flame, anyone who squats 3xweek has a good work ethic, that would just be way overtraining for ME and most others.

I am not training for size. I dont know how big i could handle them hahah. Loose fit boxer jockeys cut off the circulation my legs.

You are thinking of everything in the wrong terms. I am not training squats the same way as you. I squat at a lower percentage on most days and dont go till failure.

I am not a body builder.

I am building up my work capacity, as slobberknocker mentioned i would like to squat up to six days a week.

A combination of low and high reps in one workout:

5 * 7 squat

1 * 20 breathing squat

3 * 20-30 leg press

2 * 20-30 lunges

I hit it the same way as louden, for me 1 x 5 then 1 x 20

However people need to be most concerned with gaining strength, whether they're adding a couple lbs a week to their 5 or 20 rep, the most important thing is that they're adding.
