Is there a macro difference between 1/2 cup rolled oats and 1/2 cup steel cut oats dry weight??? Can't find anything to support this and since my purchases are all made through bulk at the health store, macros aren't listed........

The GI of the first one is slighlty lower but that's almost negligeable

As for P/F/C it's the same for both

I would have thought the GI is steel cut is lower and I just can't understand how they can have the same p/f/c............one steel cut oat is 1/4 the size of a rolled..........make sense??

When I said same P/F/C is for a 100g serving of both, not a cup

AND when I asked the question, I said 1/2 cup dry of each...maybe I wasn't clear.........?

Maybe I just didn't read carefully enough your question ?
It's early in the morning you know ?

BTW, the "cup" as a unit of measure sucks because a cup can vary in size, while 100g will always be 100g

Sorry, and I agree....however, a cup is much more easy to lug around a cup than a scale....+ they are easier to find in the office, car, wherever......so, back to my ?, is there a difference in cup measurements? Guess I need to know the weight per 1/2 cup of each...idea?

1 cup of steel cut = 6 oz
1 cup of Rolled Oats = 3 oz

so steel cut = twice as much Prot + twice as much Carb + twice as much Fat
