Dieting and very hungry

peteefs

New member
I am 24 years old 6 foot 1. 86kg 189lbs. about 18% bodyfat

in my summer cutting stage. only two days in to it. but iam really hungry. sounds strange i know. I was eating around 4500 calories, over the past 5 days i have taken them down to about 3000. but iam finding that after 90 minutes from eating iam hungry again. few questions:

1) do you think i have cut my caloires to far to quickly (my energy levels for my chest ad tricep workout were down)
2) should i use the eat when i am hungry principle or hold off until the next meal

Any suggestions would be great. cheers

Can you list specifically what you are eating? Maybe ven what you were eating? With any change & adjustment, your body will NEED to adapt ...

I'm starving all the time, and I'm eating 400 cals over what I should be .. but I'm still 'cutting' up :)

Lets see what you're eating boy...

How's the fat intake?

Water intake?

Breakfast 6am- 75g porridge with water + protein powder with water
9am- Tuna 125g plain bagel very little low fat salad cream
11-30am- large chicken salad with a slice of bread + banana
pre workout 12-30-10g glutamine
Workout- i.e Chest and triceps
postworkout 1-45 - 40g protein + 50g glucose powder
3-00pm- Chicken 150g + 100g rice
6-00pm- 2 small brown rolls + chicken
8-30pm- can of tuna + low fat salad cream + banana

This is what i am eating now, 3200 calories

Before i was eating the same sort of foods + times, but larger quantities
i.e. 200g chicken + 150g rice + sweet and sour mix on top

Hope this helps, all the advice is very welcome. cheers guys

Just drink more water before, during, and after the meal. It will help fill you up more. Try taking in a little bit more fiber as it has the tendency to expand and make you feel fuller. A lot of veggies, for example, are not very calorie dense and work great in cutting diets.

If those two things don't work then you could try upping your food in take slightly and allow your stomach time to adjust (ie. become smaller) then reduce back to your desire amount..

I do drink about 3 litres per day, every day. but your right maybe i just need my stomach to adjust to the changes.

My biggest downfull is not having enough vegetables in my diet, usually about 3 fruit. but unless i go to my parents for dinner i sometimes only 1 or no veg per day.

does 5 meals a day more calories or 7 meals per day fewer calories work better?

I am starving if I go on a low fat diet ... where are the healthy fats?

What are the macros on this?

Looks kinda high in carbs ... IMO, more carbs = more hungry I a.

Bagel, bread, rolls ... ya know?

I 2nd Bunny's comment: healthy fats?? Where are they?? You, as a man, need these especially for Testosterone production.....

HOLY LACK OF EFA's BATMAN!

Dude: Walnuts. Extraordinarily wonderous, high in EFA's, decent protein, great crunch, etc etc.

NDCF (Non Nutrient Dense Cellulose Fiber): That's NonSoluble fiber to you and me, and it 'bulks' nicely to make you feel full and does nice things to your 'regularity' as well. Flax seeds, Cereals made with some Psyllium (All Bran Bran Buds are a wonderful thing), Hijiki Seagrass, etc.

... and ditch the high GI/GLoad carb sources: bagels and breads are for Reward days ONLY... stick to fibrous carbs or carb sources whose nutrient profile is worth the payback: groats, wheatberries, lentils, sweet potato, hulled barley, wild rice, true long grain brown rice, bulghur wheat, quinoi, etc....

Cheers guys, iam looking at changing the bagels and rolls for veg, sweet pot etc. increasing the healthy nuts and flexseed oils, wow a lot to look in to but it needs to be done. Thanks again.
