Hi everyone!

You guy's have been unknowingly keeping me on the right track for month's and I thank you! When I first started lurking here I was a 200lb post partum mess. I get inspired to keep going when ever I come here! Here's the deal, before I got pregnant I did 2 round's of BFL with ok results. I started at 25%bf size8 ended at 18%bfsize 6. At this point I weigh 170 and wear a tight size 10,12 feel's a lot better;) Anyway , I'm in the middle of my first round of BFL post-preg. and am having serious doubt's about whether or not this program will ever get me where I want to be.

If you go to some of the BFL forum's there are people there on like challenge 10 or something and they don't appear to be making that much progress. I realize that progress is an individual thing... Let me just skip to the point, is BFL a good long term plan for getting lean which to me would be 15%BF, or is there a better way? Is 20min of cardio 3x a week enough? There is so mmuch conflicting info! Is BFL to high in carbs for good fat loss? I'm sorry this is so long and sorry for my ignorance. I'm just really frustrated and I want what you guy's have:D I want to be a" hottie" for once in my life!Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi scarlett-I imagine you know the routine here-post up your diet and work out program. don't forget the search function as well. Not everyone knows the BFL program, like me. Most of us lift wts and use food to reach our goals. -valerie

The Details...

:D Hi!,

I knew I could count on ya'll! Ok here goes:meal 1 : 1/2 cup oat meal 2/3 cup cottage cheese , meal 2: egg white omlett 1yolk 4 whites 1/2 apple, meal3: protein shake, meal4:tuna or chicken 4 oz and big vegetable salad, meal5: protein shake and 1/2 cup cottage cheese. This is a typical day. I usually take one free meal a week which consist's of high carb junk food like fried chicken and apple pie and a coke, I know that's gross:p

My workout's are M,W,F wt training split bt. upperbody/ lowerbody, and ab's. I do 20 min. of HIIT T,TH,Sat. then 30min. of just plain walking M-Sat. The HIIT is always done on my elliptical trainer. Thank you for your time , any comment's or recommendation's would be greatly appreciated:D

Thank's ,
Scarlett

Welcome to the boards! I think BFL is a good basic program, but I think it's been clouded by all that "Challenge" hype, making people think they should be able to remake their body in 12 weeks flat.

No matter what training program you do, it's important to keep challenging your body. As you get stronger, increase the weights. As you gain more cardio fitness, raise the intensity. The key is to progressively challenge your body but not overtrain it. Keep changing the variables to keep your body guessing, different exercises, different rep ranges, different workout routines, etc.

I'm a great believer in HIIT training, but rather than always doing it on the elliptical, change the variables - try different equipment, like a treadmill, bike, rower, or get outside and do it. Also while doing HIIT, experiment with the intervals, such as taking shorter "rest" intervals, etc.

Hey. I am new to this board and I guess you could say new to fitness and body building as well. I have been serious for about 1 year and went on a program and lost 37 pounds in 4 months. The best advice I can give is find a plan you like, one you will stick too, put all you focus on that plan and forget everything else for a while. You will find that this industry their can be an information overload, which can sometimes hold you back from your goal because you are never sure if what you are doing is the right thing. Have faith in yourself and there will be no stopping you.
All the best
