With the quad shots you've posted, you should be putting up some big numbers on fronts once you get comfortable with them. Which grip are you using on them (...and if you say "Manta Ray", I'm giving you red karma. ;))?


I think it's called a "choke" grip. I can not hold it the other way as I lack the flexability at this point.
 
That is what I was saying - I can't hold the bar in a clean grip - it's a flexability thing. It prevents me from doing much real Oly lifitng.

My shoulders both feel bruised as shit today. I'm sure it like the busted blood vessels I used to get on my back/traps from back squatting - I wore them so proudly and now they never come back.

Ahhh... the lumbars, give 'em a few more weeks, you'll be all set. I'm sure the dbolz not helping in that department though, lol.

Choke grip... hey, whatever works to keep the weight steady, you're not competing... you're moving weight.

Thanks Sarge. THe fronts were really heavy. Didn;t go in thinking 2 plates much less 245 so I am pumped. My goal is 315 by October 15th'ish

Man both my shoulders are killing me - I am really supprised there is not visable bruising b/c they hurt like a mother fucker. :saw:
I bet they are a little black/blue tomorrow

Sounds like you might need to wipe those tears from your little eyes and get to the gym fat ass! By the way.........good job....:evil:
 
Weight this AM: 224.5

Fridays workout:

Flat Bench: Bar x a lot, 135x5, 155x5, 175x5, 185x5, 195x5, 135x10
Strict Standing Press: 95x5, 115x5, 125x5, 130x5, 135x5
Dips:: BWx5, -80x15, -100x15, -100x15. These were really hurting my shoulder on my first set so I went over tot he assisted dip machine.

How is the benching going with the shoulder issue?
 
Weight this AM: 229

Yesterdays workout:

Back Squat: 135x10, 185x5, 225x5, 315x5, 315x5, 365x3, 225x10
Jump Shrugs: bar x10, 135x5, 225x5, 275x5, 275x5, 225x5, 225x5 - first time doing these.

Misc Bi and Calf work thrown in. I leave the gym so pumped it is silly. My arms don't want to straighten after a few sets of heavy curls - and I can't blame them. :p

I am excited about my squatting as I see some big numbers in the near future. I like to see the bar having a hard time not bending in half and I feel closer than ever to breaking one......... :evil:

It is totally fine benching and doing overhead work so I am blasting them. It only really hurts when I am laying down. They still hurt from Thursdays front squats - I am a baby
 
Was out ill yesterday so no work and no workout. Lots of sleep and not much food. Good news is:

Weight this AM: 233.5

Today will be a combination of Mondays and Tuesday lifts but I have not finished the layout yet. I need to Back Squat and Bench for sure, may skip DL and still do push presses. Deff doing decline situps, may do incline DBs as well.

May just do Mondays workout now that I am thinking about it - just push everything off another day - rest Thursday.
