Deadlift set

What do you consider a full deadlift set? IE: Does the bar have the stop after each rep and you must bring it off the ground each time, or does touch and go count? Also, can you take 5-10 seconds rest between some reps for it to count as a set or not? The reason I'm asking this is a couple months ago I also did touch and go deadlifts, but now I have been doing full stop, then go. It feels a lot better but is harder. Howver on my last set of 340x5, I took a 5-10 second rest before the last rep. Just wondering what you guys would consider a full set.

I do a full stop and go - all tension off the bar, but my hands still on it.

IMO if you let go of the bar, that is the end of the set. I don't think touch and go's count either since you are not completely releasing the weight, and you could even end up bouncing the weight back up using bar whip like Poundstone did in one of his videos.

imo it is ok to let go to readjust your position, or even quickly add a bit of chalk...
i have even done some reps... walked away dizzy... then within 10 seconds, regained my state of mind and ground out another rep or two...
i have come VERY close to losing consiousness a few times...
i dont think there are 'set' rules (no pun intended)...

dont touch and go though...

Why does it matter to you what everybody here thinks? (serious question...no firestarter)

Because I have never seen someone deadlift at my gym besides me, so I wanted an idea of what a full set is. I agree with moya's definition for sets, but I think if you are talking about your pr set it is over when your hands leave the bar. I stopped touch and go a while ago, full stop feels much better.

taking a few secs between reps to reset is ok in my books but when guys are there taking a 10second breather between reps while bent over it kind of gets into as if you are rest pausing...

You can all think what you want but, rest pause, cluster training etc are taken as only one set, should you abuse of them no...
