Deadlift Max attempt

Well, trying out all my maxes this week. Here is my deadlift max. pretty big fail, i know i can kill 275lbs... but it just wasn't in me today. Only reason i can think of was i was fatigued, came from soccer (coaching little kids, running around with them) did my dynamic stretches from Andalite, and jumped right into these. Next week i'll attempt it again.

Oh, and the video fucked up and is not in order. I attempted 275lbs first, 3 times before going down to 270lbs.

I can get 260lbs for 1x5, but i would only count 1x3 as good reps. What should my deadlift be?

How much do you weigh?

It seems as though its your back that letting you down, As you get the first 6 inches of the lift going well, which in my view is the hardest part.

Personally once I get the bar moving for the first phase I very rarely struggle to complete the lift.

On the rep you completed your form was good, so I suggest that you do some stiff legged dead lifts, some shrugs and some weighted back extentions to help improve the upper part of your lift.

Im currently 216 lb and deadlifting 440 lbs for 6 reps

Keep up the good work

Thanks, i always to hyper extensions to help me back. Haven't started them weighted yet, but i will be this week.

I am approx. 6ft. and weigh 163lbs.

Any ideas on my ass raising first? I am constantly trying to fix that but its soo hard...

Stiff legged deads will help immensely. YOur form looks good keep it up.

I really had no choice but to do my max yesterday. Just to try it out and see what I can get cause you need to see my 1RM. I'm off school next week so I'll do it again and see. I'm also working tonight so I wouldn't have been able to go today.

My workup to it was
Deadlift
1/5 - 135
1/3 - 185
1/3 - 225 (wasn't planning on doing 3 reps)
(Ended up triying something out with my form here)
1/1 - 275 fail
1/1 - 275 fail
1/1 - 275 fail
3-5 minute ish rests between
1/1 - 270

Bad idea.

Here is what you should try to do next week.

Mobility Drills
135x7
175x5
205x5
235x3
255x2
275x1 <<-- this will go
285 or 295 depending on how you feel.

Rest times = 5 minutes and more. No less. Time this. And when you rest you must focus on the lift and visualize it.

Alright I was really unsure how to warmup for a 1RM. How long rests do I need to take inbetween the warmup sets? And like 5 minutes before my max attempt?

Btw andalite, I'm doing my 1RM for military press and front squats tomorrow.
Right now I can get 3sets of 5 @ 90lbs on military. How should I warmup for a 1RM on that?

Also attempting front squats... Unless it's a bad Ida to do 2 maxes in 1 day?
For front squats, do I still want to try out my 1RM or is it a 5RM?
Front squats I can get 3sets of 5 @ 125lbs probably 130lbs this week. How should I do my 1RM on front squats?

Hope you don't mind me asking you for so much help
