Cutting..11%BF, hit a wall. Clen or ALA?

Hey guys,

Last time I posted here I was 14% BF trying to get down to 10%BF(point where abs are visible)...That was about 2 months ago and I'm happy to report that I'm now 11%BF and sporting a 4 pack. So now my new goal is to reach 7-8%BF.

I however seem to have hit a wall and the fat does not seem to be coming off as fast, if at all. Here's a rundown of my stats:

Male
24 yrs.
5"7
146 pounds
11%BF

Lifting weights Mon/Wed/Fri. Cardio 5x a week(20min HIIT).

Supplimenting with ECA, also taking Selenium.

I've adopted a diet similar to The Crumcake's diet:

5-6 meals/day
1-1.5x bodyweight of protein
50-70g fat
carbs only from veggies & a little from protein shakes
About 1300-1400cals/day -- Maintanance is around 1750.
Post workout dextrose shakes(30g)).

I've recently decided to do 2 cheat meals a week instead of 1 cheat day to keep leptin/T3 levels up.

My question is, in my situation, whats going to help me out more with fat loss, taking ALA with my dextrose shakes/cheat meals, or using Clen?

I'd modify your diet and training first. Try keeping rest intervals shorter. I doubt your maintenance is 1750kcal/day. I think that you're depleting yourself to the point where you're in starvation mode and your metabolism is slowing down. I would actually try tapering the carbs up and adding a little muscle and saturating glycogen stores.

your problem is simple; your body has been in a dieting (semi-starvation mode for a while now and you have not take a break

you're eating too little calories, for you have almost a 25-30% deficit...basically you're starving your body and losing muscle while you're at it

In your situation, you BEST bet would be to take a break from dieting. I suggest 1 week off with a fairly moderate-high caloric intake - i.e. foods you like: pizza, cake. Just don't go overboard, about weight x 15-20 at least in calories.

Without replenishing muscle glycogen and allowing for your body to come back into homeostasis w/ T4-T3 conversion, leptin and lower levels of gluconeogenisis and catabolism.

Day 1-3:
Use high-gi carbs
Day 4-7:
Use low-gi carbs

look for something like this: 60%carbs/30%protein/10%fat

After your "break", you can jump on a CKD or TKD to get that bodyfat to the lowest level possible

yeah dude, you need to eat more. you are slowing your metabolism waaaaay down by eating so few calories.

try eating 200 calories ABOVE maintenance for 1 week (don't worry, you won't put on an appreciable amount of fat if that's what you're worried about) to jump start your metabolism.

at you weight you should concentrate on shifting body fat into muscle; by this i mean you should be weight training but eating at slightly above maintenance a few days a week and at maintenance a few days per week. this way you won't be adding fat, instead, you'll add muscle which will eventually start to burn off those stubborn fat reserves and before you know it you'll be sporting a 6 pack.

I appreciate all the help guys. I would have never guessed that being in semi-starvation mode for this long would have become such a huge issue.

I'll try that plan out starting today Mr.X, thanks..
