Correct Amount Of Rest Time When Lifting

How much time should I be resting when doing upper body lifting. I usually do chest and triceps one day and biceps and shoulders on another day. Is it enough rest if I do chest and tri's on one day, shoulders and bi's the following day, legs the day after that and back to chest the day after that. That would give only 2 full days of rest between each muscle group. Any help or advise would be appriciated. thanks
 
I'm reffering to a scientific article on Testosterone's pages which says you need close to two days to fully rest a muscle. You can check this by measuring factors like muscle soreness, body heat and how fast the color of your skin turns from white to red after you have put pressure to a point.
 
I'll be my ass that no writer for testosterone advocates having only 2 days rest per muscle group.

So would something like this work:

Monday - Chest /Tri's

Tues - Rest

Wed - Bi's / Shoulders

Thurs - Rest

Fri - Legs

Sat - Rest

Sun - Chest / Tri's again

maybe some abs and cardio on the rest days....

?????????
 
My general training tip would be to stick to training on spesific days. That makes it easier to be motivated and you can plan other things way ahead without bringing your schedule all the time. I personally prefer (if possible) to train cardio and muscles on different days and take the weekend off and rest.

My weekly schedule is:
Monday: 10 weeks size surge program (SSP)
Tuesday: Ju Jutsu / Brazilian Ju Jutsu
Wednesday: Ju Jutsu instruction + SSP
Thursday: JJ / BJJ
Friday: SSP
Weekend off
