Bloat after cheating, how long?

Hey all,

Ive finished dieting s3 weeks ago. Ive stopped my cardiosessions and am slowly increasing my cals and carbs. Any time I cheat I bloat like crazy. How long will this go on? I mean, in the past, previous to dieting down I could eat like shit, then feel like shit but not look like shit...

Ive edded my dieting days on 1350 kcals and cycled no carb/low carb/high carb days. Now I am no longer cycling and my intake is 1600-1700kcal and 100-120gr carb, thes are increased every week untill I reach 2500 kcals and 350gr carbs.

When will this bloating reaction thing end, if ever?

It's different for everyone.

The obvious answer is "don't cheat", but that's just not realistic unless you have WAY more will power than most, myself included.

I find that if I cheat while cutting, it takes 1-2 days for the bloat to go. If I cheat when bulking however, I'm screwed as it doesn't go. So what I do is while bulking, if I have a cheat day planned, I then spend the next 1-2 days on a cutting style diet. I find this gets rid of the bloat quickly.

I find that drinking distilled water the day after a cheat day helps alot, I have no idea why though/ Alot of others have confirmed this so it might be worth trying out. Upping your water intake usually helps and if you have access to a suana, that helps a bit too.

It is water retention. Drink MORE water normally - but also especially o nyour cheat day. If I drink at LEAST a gallon of water on my cheat day (like I do normally), I do not bloat very much after cheating. Also, the extra salt on may cheat foods contributes to bloating / water retention. Drinking extra water should help get rid of this. To help with salt bloating, take a little extra potassium.

You could always take r-ALA (Glucorell0R) with cheat meals. When I take Gluc-R, I don't bloat after cheat days.

Yep, lotsa water and time.

I often plan my cheats on the weekends, when I know I can do a crazy cardio session afterwords. Im very strict, but when I pig out its like I have an eating disorder and just cant stop till my stomach says No More PLEASE . Then I wait like 4-5 hours, do a crazy cardio session, 1 hr, 1000+ cals, I lose a ton of water, then skip eating the rest of the day and do one regular cardio session and its back to normal. Another idea would be to try to cheat somewhat regular or not cheat all the way, instead of 2 bowls of ice cream and cake, have 1 etc. Instead of a burger and fries, just have the burger, etc.

When I cheat its usally 3-4 glasses of wine, a nice dinner, and I split desert with my date.
