Beginning to lift weights + Crunches, pushups,situps, etc. Question about running

Do you guys recommend running on top of weightlifting if I'm focusing on building my arms/chest?
I've seen a lot of ripped people out there that don't really run that often.
 
Do not be part of the arms/chest crowd. Look through the threads and find a full body workout to develop yourself like the 5x5 or some other plan.
 
There's nothing wrong with a good run a couple times a week. It promotes blood flow and releases endorphins.

With that said, running isn't going to make your arms and chest grow, lifting heavy weights with a good training program will.

I personally like to do short intense sprint intrevals once a week and one good 20 min run a week.
