Arm day -- don't do it?

One of the guys I know never does arms on a separate day. He says they get worked enough through back, chest and shoulder days. How many people actually do arms on a separate day? What body part do you do the day before? The day after?

I think you will be hard pressed to find someone on this board < except for some of the powerlifters> who do not do some arm work .IMO you need to do some . I recomend doing triceps on chest day, and biceps either on back day , or the workout after.

I've always had small arms that i had trouble developing, but they've made great gains since I gave them their own day. The key is that just because they have their own day, it doesnt mean that you need to go crazy with the number of sets, but it does mean you can generate the kind of intensity needed to make them grow...

CapitalT is this guy a powerlifter or Bodybuilder? because most people want their arms to get bigger so they need an extra day. personally my arms grew the most when I squat dead lift and bench heavy. But I still do arm work since they hinder most of my lifts before the bigger muscle groups

Ditto
I use to follow the idea of not training arms. I would just do big heavy things all the time. I was growing well, but my arms weren't. I've tried giving them their own day in the past, with not a whole lot of success, but I think I was overtraining them. I'm trying it again now with less volume. I'm in the gym, hit tris and bis hard with short rests, and out in about 30 minutes. I don't think so, but other people are telling me my arms look bigger so I'll keep it up for a while.

I stopped training biceps for a while but I had a back day, and a day in which I did high pulls, cleans, and deadlifts...so they were getting hit hard anyway. Now I have an arm day and I like it but I am probably gonna switch up to a shoulder/tri day and put biceps with my dead/clean/hamstring day.

Here is my basic split...

I do some triceps (for volume basically) on Monday and Friday after doing my Overhead Press and Bench Press/Incline Press. I really try to hit my triceps HARD and intense...

As far as biceps...I do about 3-4 sets on Thursday after doing triceps. This week I did curls with the 30, 40, 50, and 60's all for 6 easy reps. That is about all that I need...but they do get hit a bit from doing my event training (tire, stones, etc...).
