Anyone do boot camp classes at the gym?

Im debating on whether or not I want to start. Been considering it for a long time now and they are starting at my gym. Its just that I lift/cardio/and yoga so much that I dont know how to rearrange my schedule.
Has anyone taken the class that can say whether its worth it or not??

This is somethign my trainer has gotten on recently. I've been off training for about a month so my joints (i.e. I'm 40) aren't up to hopping around just yet, but generally speaking , if you've been doing the same thing for a while, I think a boot camp is a kick in the butt to shock your body. I don't see anythign at all bad with them because plyometrics and sort of "circuit training" approach are a good supplement & change to a regular training program.

I'd say check it out for a day & see if its above or below you. I find that my regular cardio & training is fine but it often doens't really challenge my cardiovascular capacity. That is one of the things that boot camps are good at doing.

I did for a period of time and LOVED them. I did it once a week, sometimes twice. They were AWESOME and really helped my endurance while working out. Plus, they killed the "boredom" you sometimes get when training for a long time.

Since they are typically higher impact and sprint-oriented, I would limit them to no more than 2-3 times a week (3 being on the high end). They should supplement what you already to - cardio and weights.

I am a fan of boot camp classes. As Daisy mentions, they break up the monotony of the usual cardio/lifting routines. I would definitely give it a shot, even if you can only fit it in once a week.

Thanks so much ladies. I am going to give it a shot. In the past it was only a 5 am class. F that. I would throw up. NOw there is a 10 am class. I will give it a shot.

my trainer swears by the Cross Fit training systems, and when I lived in Winnipeg for a fee a month we would have unlimited acess to the cross fit classes during the week and the "bootcamp" class on the weekend.

Most intense classes of my life, and for the first months every Saturday I dreaded going because it always resulted as me runing out the back door of the warehouse to excuse myself of me being so out of shape haha... started getting better :P Now I can't wait to return and go back to the Bootcamp classes on Saturday's! :)

15 more weeks!
