You guys are 100% right, it all comes down to the MC's, they run shit. There's been a bunch of bad ass DJ's too but the MC's are where it all comes from, real hip hoppers don't listen to a song because of it's music. I can listen to a good MC freestyle with no music at all and dig it.

true dat. if you real hardcore MC lovers are open minded, try looking into the slam, or slam poetry. Saul wililams is more of the successful poets out there, and he has an album, but with all of the music behind it, it sounds like a damn hip hop album. he is diggity dope though

I have freinds who are into it and all I do is listen to that crap. My point is if almost anyone can kick out them beats (and with programs like Fruity Loops they can) then exactly WHERE does the talent lie?? The more I hear rap the more every damn beat sounds the same. I mean walk into the projects every damn kid you seen can rap as good as any of the famous guys since its so damn easy to do. Its just a way for no talent people to pipe up and say "Yo foo you don't kno what you be talkin bout and shit"
Hell pick up a guitar and try to learn to play that, its alot easier for a machine to make your music for you trust me

stop watching that crap that you see on MTV, all hip-hop isn't like that.. and you say anyone can make a rap eh? I'd love to hear you make a rap song about your life , stay on beat and actually have a message behind your rhyme. We do have rappers who play instruments , one word
