anti-estrogens as alternative to cycling

Would it be a good idea for a natural bodybuilder to take nolvadex/clomid once he has tried all the usual supplements (creatine, tribulus, glutamine etc.) to help gain muscle before thinking of steroids?

Someone here quoted a study that 20mg of nolvadex for 6 weeks raises testosterone levels to 183% of baseline. This is surely very significant and will lead to more gains with very low side effects. I've never heard of any natural bodybuilders doing this nor have I ever heard it given as advice on the forum.

Well the answer is no, and why do u want to stay natural, steroids these days are natural if you want to achieve your goals quick and easy, even though u still have to work your ass on your diet and training when taking them

I pulled this from the pct sticky. It refers to clomid, but clomid and nolv are very similar compounds.

Important note: Clomid does not, as is often thought, stimulate the release of natural testosterone, but rather works at reducing the oestrogenic inhibition caused by the steroid cycle. It does this in a similar manner to the way it and Nolvadex block oestrogen receptors in nipples to combat gyno development, i.e. by blocking the oestrogen receptors in the hypothalamus and pituitary thus reducing the inhibition from the elevated oestrogen. This allows LH levels to return to normal, or even above normal levels, and in turn, natural testosterone levels to also normalise.

Based on my own experience, I'd have to disagree because for me clomid takes my test levels well above "natural, and I know this based on blood work. Tests are done over a month after hcg use, so I know it's the clomid. Won't work the same way for everyone though.

In my experience a very low dose of adex or femara will do a better job of raising free testosterone (as oppossed to total) levels vs. either clomid or nolva
