Am I doing my major Max effort sets right?

For example, with squats, i squat 315 right now
and this week i did

225x3
235x3
245x3
255x3
265x3
275x3
295x1
305x1
315x1

I pretty much found every set challenging with the exception of the first two or three. I found my body prepared itself for a bigger load after each set, and a long break (3-5 mins). So that each set after the third set was my max for the indicated number of reps. Am I doing this right?

Its been working great so far, but i read something on elitefts, that implied you should really only be doing a set or two out of a given series of warm up sets where your really maxing yourself out out for those reps?

umm i think your on the right track, for your max of 315 taking small jumps is good so you get more overall work in. now say your max was 545 then you wouldnt want to make 10 lb jumps youd make larger jumps like:

barx 20
95x10
135x10
185x5
225x3
275x3
315x3
365x3
405x1
455x1
495x1
545x1

Yeah real small jumps will take you forever, remember 3-5 singles above 90% is your prime area, so once you hit 275 or so go to like 300 then go for a pr, always go until you miss-unless that puts you above 2 pr's-which means it's been awile since you last did that movement or you weren't trying last time. So next time instead of 275-295-305-315 go 275-305-320/325 for a pr.

Any certain reason why you are squatting on a ME day?

Just curious...
