But Denver's ban applies to any dog that looks like a pit bull. The animal's actual behavior does not matter.

This part of the story show how completely stupid and off base this ban is. People think my Boxer pup is a pit bull all the time.
I know I would be arrested if they tried to take Tyson away from me based on looks.
My pup's best friend is a female Pit Bull that lives next door to me. She is the sweetest, best behaved dog in this town easily and I have no worries whatsoever about her playing with my dog.
I hope those poor dogs that were ripped from their homes for no reason find a place to go before they kill them.

I can't believe my hometown can be this stupid.

It just goes to show how a few bad apples can ruin the whole bunch. Someone always has to screw it up for everyone.

By that I mean that a few jerks/assholes who trained their pitts to be violent, so now everyone believes ALL pitts are violent.

I was seriously injure by a dog when I was a kid and it was a German Shepard. The police took the dog that same night & it was killed.....To this day I trust NO dog completely......

Pitpulls has been illigal in my part of the world for over a decade now, and recently they also banned the Amstaff race.
One of the arguments for this ban, was that those two dogs was so similar in looks that the police would have a difficulties telling them apart. My brothers have two amstaffs, and they are the most charming mutt's I've seen
