5x5 warmup?

Tried the 5x5 workout yesterday and got incredible pumps... My only question is, how should I warm up before lifting. For example, for incline bench press, I did 25 reps with 50 pounds and then did 5 sets of 5 reps at 180 pounds. On barbell curls I did 40 pounds for 20 reps and then 85 pounds for 5 sets and 5 reps. Is this alright. For those that have been using this workout, have you noticed a thicker look ? That's what I'm hoping I'll achieve with this, and increased strength as well.

I never do that many reps as a warmup, it tires me out to much, I ail to do just enough to get the muscle warm but not enough to tire it out.
Here's an example:
Bench
95lbs x 10
135 x 8
185 x 5
225 x 5
275 x 2
315 for 5x5

But doesn't that turn out to be more than the 20 reps I'm doing for my warm up before I hit my 5x5? You seem to be doing a total of 30 reps in 5 sets then hitting 5x5 at 315 pounds. I'm I confused. I'm doing a really light weight for twenty reps for one set only then hitting the 5x5.

I find breaking up my warmup reps into successively higher weights serves to give me a feel for the higher weights before getting to my working set, and the rest between warmup sets keeps me strong. If I did 20 reps in a row on anything before my working sets I'd be too cooked to train heavy enough. And for me, getting the feel of the heavy stuff before my first working set is really important, or when I pull the bar off the rack for that first set, it feels much heavier than it should

Thanx needsize, I'll give it shot. Maybe I'll drop the warm up sets to 3. I like this style of training, is all your training done with the 5x5 ?Or do you switch to high reps on occasion. My trainer always is fucking making me do high reps, I can't figure out why. I'll stick to the 5x5 on my own and do the high reps with him. Maybe the switching up will do something.....
