5x5 question

I'm doing the SL 5x5 routine and I'm not sure whether to keep doing 3 sets of BW chinups to failure the whole time, or switch to weighted chinups at some point. I started the 5x5 10 days ago and have gone from 8 reps (on the first set) to 12 @185lbs. At what point, if any, should i start adding weight and would it be 3x5 or 5x5 chins?

Hey bro. If this is your first round with the SL 5x5 then drop out the pullups/chinups. Just do the program the way it is writtin out and you will have more then enough.
Good luck.

What is the workout plan for this 5x5 workout? Bn on the site n just c alot of testimonials n stuff but can't find the regimen.

To get the program you have to download the "free report" by giving him your email address. About every 4th link on the site will lead you to the download.

If you have done starting strength it is exactly the same, except with 2 extra sets on everything except deadlifts.

I'm confused since chins aren't in SL 5x5...I agree with just sticking with your barbell rows for now and trying to get the most out of them.

I got the routine from this pdf and it includes chinups/pullups: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&...wkoKZP&sig=AHIEtbTPNjeLNokfMvZAOGJlB5PYz9Waog

...it says you're supposed to alternate pullups/chinups each time, but I'm only doing chinups (was told to do this by zedhead so I'd get a little better bicep workout).

Zed, you're the one who told me to do the chinups! lol. If I drop those, my "workout b" would only be: squats 5x5, deadlift 1x5, and OH press 5x5. The chins are on a different day than the rows so they don't really detract from them either.

trtest the workout for the SL 5x5 is this,
Workout A
Squats
Flat Bench Press
Bent Over Rows

Workout B
Squat
OHP
Deadlift

Sorry bout that bro. I respond to a lot of questions on the SL 5x5 and cant always keep track.

so anyhow...When you can do 5x5 chins at body weight then begin to add weight to yourself. YOu most likely will not be able to do 5x5 with the added weight so again work up to the 5x5 before adding any more.
Regards bro and good luck.
