The food pyramid, the most researched and tested huh? I guess that is why america is full of fat asses?
We can only advise what is good for a person, not make them do it.

You see no way that a person can gain 100lbs of mass in a lifetime? We all do it silly, its called growing up. He said he is a teenager, he has a lot of growing left to go, he could easily put on 100 lbs in the next 3 years, counting bone growth, etc.
By 'mass' I was referring to muscle alone. I could've made that more clear.

At this point in your life the last thing you need to be worriing about is counting calories and becoming anal about something that can easily take control of your life. Just start eating more and more day by day. Eat more calorie DENSE foods with each meal. Then start increasing the size of your meals. The increase in size of your meals will expand your stomach allowing for you to eat more at each meal. All the while you are eating more calorie dense food thus increasing the overall calorie consumption whithout really noticing it. Calorie dense foods like peanut butter, pastas with sauces, meat dishes, mashed potatoes, etc... Believe me as an RD I have many youngsters that get so deep into their diets at such a young age I can do nothing to help them end up refferring them to psychs for treatment. Take your time and take it easy.
